Yes it was well documented, he had just got into the Athletico team and didn't want to leave at the time.
He'd have gone from playing second fiddle to Falcao, to playing second fiddle to Suarez. Think he made the right choice, career wise. We are probably paying him more than Liverpool offered too.
He got a CL medal by staying so he's going to be very glad he stayed I think he would have played well with Suarez but he would have moved on regardless. Costa is a good player and would fit well into our side but that's the way it goes I suppose, I'm happy with Studge up top especially with the price we paid for him.
