Cost to reopen the A/B section of the East Stand for the family section?

One option which no-one has wondered is how much it would cost to repair the A/B section of the East Stand and move the family section from the North West Vic Road and make the whole Vic Road end available to away supporters? This part of the stand was originally closed a couple of years ago because the £20,000 maintenance bill was deemed "too much", but how many times is the current 2316 away allocation sold out per season?

OK let's pretend the £20k has become £50k or even £100k, I don't think you would need many QPR games to re-open this section (2000 punters at £25 per adult + refreshment income). This section was at one stage self contained, but I know there are now no toilets or refreshment areas and these would need to be added, but I feel it is a false economy to not consider this.

At the very least it should satisfy those Family members who don't like to form the buffer between home and away sections. Or maybe the club doesn't care enough about our "family image".

    It's just a thought .........

Elixir - Good discussion but based on the £20K a year assumption, how confident are you that is real?

Demand would exceed the away allocation for Palace, Brighton and Millwall; probably for Portsmouth and Southampton, Reading if they don't go up. Don't know about an extra 2k but an extra 1k for each of these and perhaps a couple of good cup ties and you've more than made up the cost. It depends on the timescale for a new stand - more than one season and elixir's idea certainly has a lot of merit.

I have looked across the ground and wondered if such a scheme was viable or not. I suppose it would come down to access and getting a safety certificate for the whole thing.
