Not everyone is aware of how to reduce their home energy bills, so list anything you think could be useful to others with easy to understand links if possible.

We're all in this together, but some more than others.

Invite yourself round for tea on a regular basis. At this point you are using others water to flush with as well.

Missus took our tea out of the freezer yesterday morning to defrost. House was so cold that I put it (*) into the fridge to help it thaw quicker. (* the food, not the house)

ps reading some of the sob-stories (admittedly some are genuine & worrying), it does make you wonder how the hell we survived back in the day when there was no double glazing, no central heating, no onesies, etc

agreed I remember as a kid growing up in east hulll…often finding the curtains frozen stiff solid in a morning. We survived, don’t think we even moaned about it

Don't you know the bucket of cold water method? It'll thaw in an hour or 2.

Also as i alluded to before
A typical home in the uk without heating will be between 8-12c

Thats where your hands and fingers can feel cold and the start of the internal warming process
And the unhealthier and older you are

Blood turns thicker due to increase of blood pressure as your body works hard to ensure internal organs are warm

Which massively increases strokes and cardiac arrests as clots occur etc

    We used to:
    1) Wear more clothes (especially layers of clothing)
    2) Keep one room (living room) warm and others not heated
    3) Put more bedding on bed
    4) Eat warm food (soups, stews, casseroles etc)
    5) Moan less - it was our normal lives, no point in complaining
