So the man partly responsible for the restructuring and the phenomenal resurgence of Southampton has called time at the club.

This is exactly the type of guy I have been referring to in regards to the calibre of people we need running Bristol City FC! This is the type of person SL should have been investing in, not the Byfields, Stern Johns, Etc of this world. Instead of giving his billions to a loveable (but mostly irresponsible in the transfer market) cockney. He should have been putting smarter more methodical minds in the important roles behind the scenes to make sure things pertaining to on field matters ran far better.

I say get rid of your inept and embarrassing spoon fed offspring and now put an adult in charge to fully turn this club round to get us on a road to challenging for the prem! Sign Cortese up!!!

I dare say they'll make a good go of it if that happens.

Nice stadium, good facilities, good squad and great fan base

Needs some wealthy friends then. Mike Ashley valued Newcastle at over 400 million just before they got relegated. Southampton in today's Premier League must be worth £750 million.

Football, especially at the Premiership end of the spectrum is awash with money. Whether it's all legit is another matter, but as long as Dodgy 'Arry isn't involved they might be alright !

Sky Sports said about £175m-£200m (Fulham was sold for £150m this year)

    He's been fantastic for you.

Doesn't seem 5 minutes ago that every fan in the country thought Adkins was treated unfairly.

You cannot equate Fulham to Southampton on ANY level other than the fact they are in the same league (for now). London is full to the brim with clubs and a huge club a stones throw away providing far too much competition for them for new fans in Chelsea. They have a shed for a stadium, absolutely nothing to show from their youth setup of any international merit, and are decline.

Southampton have a superb state of the art stadium, no competition in the area whatsoever for new fans coming into the game, a phenomenal list of youth talent that is still coming through the ranks, and have been for the past 15 years.... There is no way you can agree with Sky Sports that Fulham is anywhere near the value of what Southampton is. Their stadium alone is worth what the whole of Fulham FC is worth, let alone everything else.

Also Fulham owner bought before the disgustingly big bucks were being dished out to top level clubs. That making clubs in todays market worth more than double what they were a year/2 years ago.
