    Taken from another Website:

German sportsmagazine Sport Bild says FIFA is seriously considering not playing the world cup 2022 in Qatar.

According to sources in the FIFA, at a congres in May the Ethical Committee of the FIFA will advice that a new country will be picked to organize the world cup.

Especially Michel Platini is under increasing pressure from FIFA. Shortly before Qatar was chosen to organize the world cup, Platini is said to have had a secret meeting with president Sarkozy, a Quatar sheik, and the board of Paris Saint Germain. Sarkozy had persuaded Platini to vote for Qatar. In exchange, Qatar would make significant investments in French football.

One year later, Platini's son Laurent, became head of an Qatarese investment group....

Last week France Football already published a 16 page dossier, in which it stated the appointment of Qatar as organizer was the result of corruption and cronyism.

If true, England or US are the easiest places to put as the stadiums and arrangements are very easy and already there.

Don't they usually pick an alternate when they pick the winner?

For example I read that the USA is the alternate for 2014 if the unlikely event that Brazil can't hold it for some reason.

Who was picked as alternate for Qatar? Surely there already is one in place?

    Probably Austrialia.

It stinks though, they talk of all this corruption with players and refs etc but who can blame them considering the top men in football are on the take more than any of them.

  8. I was going by your reasoning! The qatar win was that much An Shambles that it should be re-done. Doubt FIFA will refund the vast amounts the countries spent on their campaigns mind <laugh>

The only other ones I think were the joint Spain-Portugal one which would be sweet as well actually. We shall see.

  10. Portugal had the Euros in 2004. Spain not had anything since 1982 so I'd prefer them to have it.

    Italy - 1990
    Germany - 2006
    France 1998
    England - 1996
    USA - 1994
