This smacks of them throwing him under the bus, without having to sack him for his obvious incompetence. Once gone he can be blamed for the entire PPE cronyism and corruption. He’s ****ed.
He’s not resigning then...apologies for breaking social distancing rules, and skips straight past the adultery bit.

To me, that sums up what is wrong with this whole **** show. He will probably end up resigning over the adultery bit....eventually. Not for all the **** ups, not for his incompetence and not for his lies about government related matters and policies. He will resign for something that is really only between him and his Mrs, and something that many in government, many in the press and, dare I say, many on here will have been guilty of at some point.
Like you say, he will be thrown under the bus and a whole lot of other stuff that deserves to be scrutinised will be thrown under it with him.

He’s made it plain he’s no intention of resigning with that statement.
A bloke who the PM has been shown to have called ‘completely ****ing useless’ has now been caught shagging an aide who he employed and is also married, whilst in one of the great offices of State, and we’re all supposed to say ‘yeah whatever’, on top of all of his other demonstrable lies and **** ups.
There’s not a shred of integrity and decency left in British politics at the moment.
