Just spoke to a mate whose step daughter is a student nurse drafted in to help at a hospital in Yorkshire.

She is saying they are woefully short of PPE. She also said the staff were tested at the weekend and the results came back today showing more of the staff are infected than they have covid-19 patients in the hospital.

Bloody hell .

So, had my stay in doors for twelve weeks letter yesterday!

Wasn't really expecting it and not 100% sure whether I am going to act on it, had a letter from the local hospital Friday saying I am 'medium' risk category (even that is bollocks IMO, I see myself as ****ing bomb proof) which is to 'stringently' socially distance. For twelve weeks though ffs??

Rewinding slightly, I am still working. I fall into that grey area of not being able to work from home but can very definitely still work and keep the economy going. In other words, construction.

Who gives a **** about construction though, right? Not deemed to be essential or a hero by anybody. Not that I'm on here asking for my back to be patted or anything. (perhaps I should clarify at this point, no, I don't blame the government <ok>)

I'm going to see the week out. I am temperature tested twice a day entering the place of work (a brewery) and am in very good health. I can also steer clear of most people, I'm not a 'coal face' worker . All our meetings are by Skype or Zoom, so I'm not sat in room with others and when I do interact, I stay 2m clear.

Will see what happens after this week. I feel daft, I don't need my arse wiping by anyone and I don't feel at risk. Nor do I want to be a bed burden!

If I am at home I will be getting out for a run and dog walk, there's no way am I stopping doing that.

Won't go to supermarkets or owt though.

I think @Tobes has had similar letter iirc?

I don’t mind him.
Whilst I don’t agree with his views, I prefer them to the pages and pages of guys lining up to post abuse at him.
Might just be me though.
It’s just tedious attention seeking. It’s also incredibly disrespectful to the people on the frontline who are trying to save lives while risking their own at the same time. All just to steer the conversation in a direction that puts him at the centre of it. He’s either unhinged or a complete ****.

can't say i'm surprised .That is one of the main reasons for me being very careful atm as Hopsitals strike me as one of the most likely places in the country to get infected - just behind No 10 :bandit:

Tbh...after people post personal stories of loss and or personal pain it is more than a little ****ty to carry on like he does.
Wumming is fine but that ain't what is going on. He is also abusive so imho what goes round comes around.

when did medium risk become part of the 12 week stay at home regime ? . All i've seen is the extremely vulnerable ,approx 1.5m , & old folk .If this is the case i'm getting registered so i can see the extra delivery slots from the supermarkets .

i'm fine with people having other views on this for example trying to balance economic "pain" with medical "pain" but he is just being a complete twat about it all and posting deliberately offensive BS imo .

There are a lot of companies that used to supply produce to businesses that are now delivering direct to the consumer. Are you struggling to get supplies?

I'm ok up end of next week but may be able to stretch until the following Tues when got a delivery planned then looks like shopping looms. Am tempted to register as vulnerable even though don't meet the criteria for the extremely vulnerable as both me & Mrs are classified as severely disabled and am trying to limit contact with others to bare minimum .
I normally refuse to play the "disabled" card & just do what needs doing but i have to protect the Mrs .

Have you got the Next Door app? It’s been quite useful as people are sharing tips on how to get supplies ie our local butcher and the corner shop in the next town are now doing deliveries.

I agree.
Some of the actions of some of the police forces has been out of line snd needs to be challenged...and is being challenged.
Telling people when they have exercised enough and attempting to fine a shopper for buying "non essentials" is not whwt the emergency powers were for and do not protect society.
I have no issues with these and other concerns being raised but am at a complete loss to what the **** HIAG is doing. He is being bang out of line.

Don’t be ashamed to do so, mate. If you need help, you’ll regret not taking it if something bad happens.

If you don’t mind me asking, what is your medium risk condition?
