As someone who thanks to the outsourced wheelchair services has spent the last week in a wheelchair which has both health & safety issues following a botched repair due to missing parts and incorrect parts and despite ringing everyday i still have no idea if / when they will order the correct parts let alone fit them .
Leads me to sometimes wonder if the worst of both worlds is the half & half we often have with the NHS when the outsourced services are given to the lowest bidder who cannot then meet minimum standards .

Outsourcing of NHS services is a shambles. Just got off the phone to my old mum, whose home carers are provided by a private company.
Four employees walked out on the same day, leaving the service struggling and the patients suffering. The lovely Croatian girl has gone home because Britain is such a tough place to be right now, the other three had their own resentments with their employer.
One of the key issues with NHS procurement is the heavy weighting to price compared to quality. If that focus was shifted slightly there’d be much better outcomes.
I shouldn't of asked really, because I can't be bothered to reply.
But I deffo read everyone's statement and made a "hmph ok" kinda noise.
If the absurd free market dogma that imposes a phony market on a public service was binned off, there'd be better outcomes

The NHS does have a lot of issues, and not just lack of funding.
It is too inefficient, there are too many middle managers who do not need to be there and cannot justify their own salary.
And not enough of the money pumped in to the NHS is spent on frontline healthcare staff like Paramedics and nurses.
When you hear dumb **** like every ward having a "pillow manager" and **** like that, it makes your blood boil.
Yes the NHS needs more funds, everything does, Austerity has been ****ing us over, but the answer to the NHS' problems aren't just always, "Throw more money at it!", it needs streamlining and re arranging by someone who knows their ****.
Dont get me wrong, even in its ****ed up state, i'd still take the NHS over an American style Insurance system, which is ****ed and a complete rip off and only worth it if you are a millionaire. But still, the NHS needs looking at properly, there is plenty of fat that could be trimmed.
Transport For London are pretty good. Arriva, Metroline, Citybus etc, do their best to **** everything up.

There is an opportunity for people to voice there disapproval .
I fear they wont as a tax cut now and another nearer the time will hold a lot more sway than thinking about their own health and mortality !
Large sections of the human population really are ****ing stupid.
