Nicola Sturgeon said any extra money would be used to help businesses and the overall Covid effort
Scotland is to receive an extra £220m from the UK government to help tackle Covid-19.
The Scottish government has made repeated calls for more money from the Treasury as Omicron numbers rise.
It had already said bars and restaurants would receive a £66m support package but hospitality bosses said this was not enough.
The extra funding follows discussions between the devolved nations and Chancellor Rishi Sunak.
The UK government said the money was on top of the £220m it had already provided from the Autumn Budget.

I have to add that he is a ginger so take that into account.Got my result today after taking the pcr last thursday. Negative which is just aswell because i have been back to work etc. I spoke to my little brother who was at a wedding 2 weeks ago. He says the majority have come down with covid, all his table of 10, apart from himself. All vacinated, apart from himself. He and his mrs did the antibodies test, she is vacinated and got it too (2nd time now). His showed a greater level of antibodies in his system than she did. Its all really bizarre to say the least.

And that hes ginger obviouslyTo counter that, my business partners brother and sister-in-law are both anti-vaxers...and have now contracted the virus, infecting his 80+ year old parents who, although triple dosed, are now quite ill. The sister-in-law has been rushed to hospital and is now ventilated, the brother is very ill too.
Your brother may have recently had Covid, been asymptomatic so not known, which would explain the high antibody count.
And that hes ginger obviously

Not just London, but nationwide people isolating or ill which is causing staff shortages...No change to restrictions at present.
Fair enough. The ranges in the SAGE and other models are vast. The evidence from South Africa is encouraging - infections tailing off, peaks of hospitalisations and deaths much lower than previous waves. But we are continually told that ‘the population is younger’ - yes it is, and with much lower vaccination rates too.
Here, infections are meant to be doubling every two days but the number of positive tests has been 80-90k a day since last Thursday (perhaps this is the test capacity?) and the number of hospital beds taken up by people who are in for/with COVID hasn’t gone up at all, though the last day this data is available for is 17 December for some reason.
On the other hand we have London where thousands of NHS staff are self isolating and the number of beds taken up by COVID has gone up a lot - not for some reason reflected in the national data. Of course, this is the place with the lowest vaccine uptake in the country by some distance.
People off work, especially in emergency services, seems to be the biggest risk. Given footfall in the shops, restaurants and pubs, it seems that people are taking things easy to save their Christmases. Might not work though, this version does seem sensationally easy to catch.
