I suppose the simplest and easiest way for parents to feel safe to send their kids back to school is to publish the scientific and health reports that have led to the government saying its 'absolutely safe'.

One of my 4 brothers owns a small printing firm. On Friday, last week he rang the HSE up for them to check his safety standards and what he has implemented regarding covid19 for his 8 employees. Apparantly he was told that checks have not been instructed to be carried out yet!! Bearing in mind instructions were to go to work if you cant work from home, starting last Monday or wednesday or whenever it ****ing was. How irresponsible to not have HSE up to speed before telling people to go to work.
Hardly the governments fault though is it, if the HSE Isn’t up to speed is it.

“The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) is a UK government agency responsible for the encouragement, regulation and enforcement of workplace health, safety and welfare, and for research into occupational risks in Great Britain. ... The HSE is sponsored by the Department for Work and Pensions.”
I guess someone needs to mention that at the next cabinet meeting. Joined up thinking is the usual term I believe.

Yes it’s a government agency, it’s not a government department, government agency’s are pretty much “sub contractors “ they work for the government but are not run by them, as in they are “SPONSORED” as you put it, pretty much like QPR being sponsored by Binatone, or Guinness even by CARGIANT, They don’t pick the team or manage the club they just work with them.
