Damn right. My sis in law has one mask for the ****ing week! We are nearly midway through april ffs but how dare anyone question it!
It's not about questioning, it's about being realistic. Only yesterday the were saying about the number of masks that are being used (not just for nurses). No one could really have prepared for this... however, if you are so concerned as to the reason why we are short of masks.... Just ask any manufacturer, retailer, who bought up all the masks and gloves in January. I would have thought you would have known that?

Why would I have known that. We are nearly 2 and a half months down the line Ellers ffs and PPE is still a problem. Nobody can argue with that.

I don’t think it will end in a single decision, I’d guess another 3 weeks from now for some businesses to reopen, but not pubs/restaurants. Those who can work from home will be asked to continue to, we will all be begged to maintain the 2 metre distance. Those ‘at risk’ will be asked to self isolate for months.

Those who can work from home will be asked to continue to, we will all be begged to maintain the 2 metre distance. Those ‘at risk’ will be asked to self isolate for months, but even then there will be ‘unexpected’ deaths and gnashing of teeth, because the government daren’t tell all those who are at risk that they are. Whitty, Hancock and Johnson are white men of similar age who have had the virus, two just stayed at home for a week, the other end up in intensive care and might not be back at work for a month. One obvious difference between them, which we never talk about. And if we did the majority of the population would be self isolating.

I'm probably being particularly dense, but I'm not sure what you're alluding to.

And until then everyone just shut up and pretend we aren’t seeing more deaths than other countries at their peak?
No but if you are going to criticise at least have the full facts and don't just try to score political points.
Bloody hell people really need to wake up! I blame this lockdown.
This is an ongoing thing that is changing daily. Scientists/WHO and just about every bloody expert have said they cannot give us answers yet because they don't know....yet Karen on Facebook seems to know everything?

Go ahead blame who you like but where will it get you?
I would rather sit, listen and wait until we can comment.

Windmill all you like. We had a two week advantage over Italy and Spain to learn from their errors and the advantage of being an island as demonstrated by New Zealand. There’s no getting away from those facts as the deaths stack up.

Regardless of party politics, who you vote for or otherwise, the PPE situation is disgraceful! Logistics of delivering and challenges etc. There have been 3/4 of a million volunteers ffs. There are still frontline staff without the correct gear even now!

70% of those in intensive care are overweight/obese/clinically obese, regardless of age. Johnson is considerably heavier than Whitty or Hancock, and he’s the one who got it bad. Will the government extend its at risk criteria to those with a BMI of over 25 (overweight - 36% of the adult population) or 30 (obese - 29% of the adult population). I doubt it because the numbers are scary and because people will get offended. (I am well aware that BMI is not a great measure in all circumstances, but I don’t think many of those in the population falling into these categories are professional rugby players or heavyweight boxers).
