Holden says it was a family crisis of some kind. It's not beyond possibility I suppose. I've had some fairly distressing calls from my old mum when things have got too much for her and she's having a bad day. I've wanted to drive over there and see her. But I believe Holden has some previous. Didn't she say some stupid anti-vacc stuff several months ago? Or at least anti-lockdown. I seriously suspect she doesn't really give a damn.

And the message anti-vaxxers give, despite being untrue, is sometimes clearer than what comes out of Westminster. I think when there is a vacuum of authority, people believe what they want. But I would have thought that if we wanted to hold people accountable for spreading lies, there would be less lying.
We're all capable of kidding ourselves. If this wasn't the case we wouldn't be facing the environmental challenges we do in the future.
I see Lanark sherriff court will be hearing a case involving online abuse of the family of Captain Moore. So a 99 year old man walks up and down and raises millions for the NHS as well as inspiring millons of people with his attitude to life in lockdown. And some miserable creature sees this as an excuse to abuse him and his family online. Honestly, I really don't see how this would be possible. Where do you find anything in the story of Sir Captain moore to abuse?
Odd state of affairs at the Australian Open tennis final. Some spectators booed loudly at the mention of a vaccine roll-out programme. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-australia-56150021 Presumably this was not a stunt by anti-vaccers. So it must have been a number of regular tennis fans. Perhaps they just didn't want to hear anything pandemic related, having gone to the game to get away from all that. But it does seem pretty immature. Australia has got off very lightly with infections & fatalities compared to most European countries. So I assume they are just fed up with lock-down rules and all that stuff. Measures designed to keep them safe, not actually just to annoy them. How awful it must be.
Interesting story in the SLP about an extreme fake news item. A woman heard from a friend on facebook that a cure for Covid was to drink your own p1ss, so that what she and her 4 children did for 4 days. The anti-vaccers told her that the vaccines were harmful.
The old primary school joke with the punchline Me no daft Me no silly Me drink water Out my willy. Caused huge hilarity for days.
