Like I said earlier I’d rather wait for the Oxford boys who are in it for health not wealth- line all the Pfizer boys and MP’s up and film them taking it and I may have a little more faith in it

MP's taking the vaccine live on TV is a notion that makes me smile.
If it reassures a few thousand people then it's worthwhile; every person who takes the vaccine increases the collective effectiveness of it.

But it does bring to mind the hilarious image of John Gummer feeding his daughter a beef burger <doh>

Known as John Selwyn Gummer back in the day - I read once that this is because he studied at Selwyn College, Cambridge.

Does anybody know if that is true? Or just a coincidence...

    From Wikipedia:

The eldest son of a Church of England priest, Canon Selwyn Gummer,[8] his younger brother is Peter Gummer, Baron Chadlington, a PR professional.

Seems to be a family name.

    A coincidence then, fair enough.

Must admit, I was hoping it wasn't
But just goes to prove we shouldn't believe everything we read on the interweb. Some of it is actually fibs! :emoticon-0104-surpr

I agree that you can't force people to have the vaccine but there should be restrictions placed on them, like no travelling on planes etc.

I’m not anti-vac but just wary of Pfizer’s over Oxford, very willing to take the home grown Oxford vaccine :emoticon-0148-yes:

They all go through identical & very stringent safety checks before being licensed. The people doing the licensing are eminent experts. There’s so much X- Files type conspiracy bollocks about these vaccines. It’s laughable.

My wife was one of the trial patients for the new vaccine
The bad news is she’s been moody, not up for any sex and has a hairy chin and moustache.
The good news is there don’t seem to be any side effects to the vaccine.

Sorry but I was wary before hearing about the “immunity blanket “, that’s just heightened my scepticism, luckily my wife gets the vaccine first and I can sit back and observe <laugh>

I am reasonably sure that as a Tier 3 person Smudge that you will not have an option as whether to take the vaccine ..... us Tier 2 'ers can sit back as they use Kent as a test area..... happy days :emoticon-0136-giggl

You should do 'thought for the day' on Radio 4 Elfs. That would shake 'em up <laugh>

I think you’ll find it’s prioritised by age and occupation not by location- London has been left at tier 2 solely for economic reasons :emoticon-0172-mooni

Are you sure Smudger? ... my mate lives in Whitstable and he says that it is like a war zone down there with ambulances flying around all the time?

Luckily I don’t live in Whitstable and they’re police cars not ambulances, is your pal special needs ?
