Although we scored from a Corner last weekend I wondering whether everyone felt that Adels delivery from Corner\Set pieces are better the Joeyâs ? Obviously when it comes to free kick around the box definitely Adel but when delivering into the box they have different approaches. Joeys gives a faster lower delivery, whipping the ball in while Adel tends to float the ball a bit more, there seems to be pro and cons to both approaches. When whipping in the cross, you have to give a lower trajectory meaning it can be picked off at the near post before entering the danger area but it also allows little time for the defence to adjust (attackers as well) also no real power is need just direction when connecting. Adel tends to float the ball a bit more allowing for greater bend and deception in the air, more guaranteed to get over the near post defenders but also liable to go beyond. Down side, it gives the defence a little extra time to set themselves but is also more consistent (should be) and can be more accurate. Not really arguing one way or other but perhaps there is an option to mix up the deliveries or deliverers not allowing the defence to settle. Anyway just a thought on a slow afternoon, what do you think? (Oh and stop wasting the short corners please)
I reckon a variety is good. Clint is "owed" a goal from one, from Joey I think, from Bolton. It's gotta come at Citeh!
Buz is the best set piece taker in the squad and that's just about all the bloke is good for at this level. For set pieces: Buz>Taarabt>Barton
Bit harsh. I don't think he's good enough nor physically imposing enough but I wouldn't class him as a coward.
No contest. Adel far better corner taker than Barton but agree Buz is better than Adel. Barton a distant 3rd best
He was the first to bottle a 50/50 ball in the Chelsea match and the day just got worse from there, sorry, but that was the end of him for me...
