I know you're all enthralled by this so I thought I'd bring the stats up to date!! 11 games in we've now had 73 corners and scored 1/2 a goal from them!!! Why don't we hire a corner coach????
I knew it was bad but that statistic is shocking. What happened since last season, if I remember rightly Chester had a couple from corners too.
Set pieces used to be one of our fortes, they've gone to pot recently. Some of them haven't even beat the first man! Something for the team to work on.
Something to work on, clearly. Only having one player in the starting XI over 6ft somewhat hampers our chances however. I wouldn't be that concerned, we don't seem to concede from them very often - it works both ways
To be honest I've always moaned about City and corners. We never seem to get rewards from them. Being crap at corners seems to go with the shirt. Michael Turner apart I never in the past or now get excited when we get a corner.
As Burnsy/Swanny said - with Turner you were always in with a chance, but with Hobbs and Chester, don't expect too much.....
They never beat the first man, on the rare occasion they do there's just a pile of static bodies in the box and we never even come close to scoring. We're also ****e at throw-ins, kick-offs and (probably) goal kicks. Add to that we never get penalties and you realise how good we are in open play.
