So as today we have had 158 corners since we last scored from one. That's quite a stat. Are we just absolute shyte at crossing them? Is it because our squad suffer from dwarfism? are we not physical enough? Why is it going wrong in this area of the pitch as of now we seem to have no advantage in taking them. 1. Are we shyte at taking them? Answer Probably...... as it speaks for itself we can't score lol 2 .Team to small? Hmmmm Yes and no. Yes our attack is probably one of the smallest around but we still have CHalfs who can head a ball at the back but seem to head it with blindfolds on with corners. 3.Not physical enough ? I'd deffo say yes on that one we don't have a lot of muscle in the squad and are tamely manhandled at times on set pieces in the scuffle. So to everyone why are we totting up this number count can anyone contribute?
How many times do we hit the first defender and then over hit the next one. We have no one that can deliver a decent corner.
get someone new and accurate to take them and a special tactics coach who knows his job, maybe then we can get excited
A quick stat, How often is a goal scored from a corner? The results were eye-opening for many football fans: Only 20% of corners led to a shot on goal. A mere 10% of these shots resulted in a goal. In essence, a minuscule 2% of corners led to a goal. I'm sure there is someone on here who can do a better stat analysis.
I refer back to the below thread and subsequent posts thereafter from April of this year No point posting the same info again, if you need to fall asleep quickly then your bedtime story can be found here https://not606.com/threads/the-lufc-breakfast-debate-wednesday-17th-april.412295/#post-17482823
Don’t want to be negative, but I think the quality of balls into the box from corners have been extremely poor for the last couple of years. Can’t really comment on whether we’re good enough once the ball is delivered, as it rarely gets beyond the first man. I don’t see it improving unless Rothwell or maybe even Tanaka has a go. Think we’re better able to defend corners with Struijk in the team, and he does pose a threat at the other end. Let’s hope for better going forward.
