Cornelius breaks leg in pub brawl

CORNELIUS HAS NOT BROKEN HIS LEG TO MY KNOWLEDGE, SORRY FOR THE DECEPTION BUT I WANTED AS MUCH ATTENTION AS POSSIBLE. I didn't want this thread to be lost in the many other 'please stop this nonsense' threads.

I was a regular on BBC606 before it got closed down and have been a member here ever since. I have looked in to see what the general views about Cardiff are on a daily basis for many years. I can not usually get to games and I want a fans view rather than the WoL error-strewn match reports and the post-it note sized articles in the papers. It also helps to gain knowledge of potential signings etc.

However, ever since what must have been a few months ago I have become increasingly frustrated with what has been going on on this once civilised board. Now, as I am probably as neutral a Cardiff fan can be to Swansea (in other words I do not hate their guts), I can say the reason for this are widespread and not just "Swansea coming over here", this is a public forum.

Not606 was a place where you could have banter between teams (mainly our noisy neighbours) and not be scared of getting carded by the mods. Now this is not the mods faults whatsoever and I think that taff and the swans mods have done all that they can in the situation they have been put in. Some examples include:

Asking how old someone is has been deemed ageist and
Describing something that has spread and affected more people as a cancer (which is a valid use of the word) has been deemed as making fun of cancer (sigh!)

Soon you will not be able to say 'big girls blouse' without being hounded by someone who is saying "thats sexist, ban them" etc.
Why do we not realise that this petty name-calling and witch hunting will only lead to more football-related posters leaving??

We are both in the Premier League, an amazing feat for Welsh football and yet we cannot peacefully coexist.
It is not so much of asking people to have a thick skin but to rise above it and stay on topic.

P.S. I do not condone any homophobic, sexist, racist abuse and swearing can surely be avoided. Also sorry if this sounded preachy

agree, this board has been a cesspit in recent days, people have lost all sense of perspective.

someone calls someone a girl and the other calls for a ban on sexism, then calls them old and calls for another ban on the grounds of ageism.

people from both sides are at fault, i havent seen one thing thats been worthy of a ban here, mods need to delete offending posts and tell them why, instead of threatening bans, and people not being able to take some light hearted banter from the jacks.

 

It's too late for this board.

I may look again in about a month to see if it still exists.

You can have light hearted banter and some serious banter, I have no problem with the Jacks on here (other than those whose hatred distort their thinking) and believe our board could be back to what we used to have

The tone of this thread is far too biased towards Jack posters who've latched onto it as some sort of justification for their own behaviour. It's just offered them some sort of sanction for their rubbish and you can see that from the comments on it.

Before these more recent spats broke out, practically every incursion by them over here was blamed on JH and they were just responding to his jibes - what a load of bollucks!

There are plenty of Swansea posters with more faces than the townhall clock. They come across here whining about how Cardiff posters have a go at them. **** me, have you seen the **** they post when joining in with crap threads across there about Cardiff?

Whilst this thread is undoubtedly an attempt to quell the rubbish that emanates from both sides, it's painting far too rosy a picture of them, and villifying some of our guys.

Perhaps some Cardiff posters are just so pissed off with their self righteous crap, they feel the need to resort to OTT methods of eradicating them. I've got little time for JH and his constant Swansea phobia references and I've said so, but posters like DJ have been driven out of character lately. That's not condoning his comments, just trying to understand his feelings.

Before the PC brigade from down west get all hot under the collar about the things posters over here say on our forum, they'd be well advised to look inwards at the anti-Cardiff bile spewed on their board.

Whilst football is football and the banter that goes with it is just fine, **** is still ****. There's far more been posted in Jackland than over here. No wonder the vast majority of Cardiff fans stay well away from that site.

There are plenty of threads that just want to discuss the game and have some genuine chat both serious and fun, but this board has been driven downhill by representatives of both sides, NOT just Cardiff.

Now there's a football thread I put up last night - anyone want to comment on that rather than continue this **** on yet another thread on the "problems"?

Sparkey....couldn't agree more. JH is a bit of a jerk but that is the limit of the junk on here....and the good people like yourself keep him in line.
I had a look at one of the Swansea threads and was appalled at the level of discussion going on about how so-and-so will get a ban soon and how some were setting out to get others banned. Don't need it , frankly speaking. BTW, it was also completely and utterly wrong in some statements, especially those involving CVAs and Financial Reports.
Maybe ccfcremote (I think it was, who writes a bit of something about CCFC Annual Accounts) should go down there and do a few lectures on business.....I'd do it myself but it is too far and I can't stand teaching dull people...gets me too frustrated.

 

Now if Cornelius is going to drag Cardiff's name down by getting pissed and brawling in local hostelries you don't need it get rid of him
