http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/nigel-pearson-claims-leicester-nearly-3240794 ... food for thought?
This story was aired some time ago but the club (Leicester) was not named. The KCB, BU and Love Malky people poured scorn on it.
malky's biggest mistake when he was here no doubt, but dave, your anti malky campaign is getting a bit tiresome for me. his record at signing players at championship level was great, almost every player he signed was a success. yes he made mistakes in the PL which is why he's gone but he got us up. as for cornelius, the jacks said he was worth a maximum of £4m, i remember something like that, they had danish management so knew of the player and thought that at that price we were welcome to have him. £500k is pathetic for a player of his age scoring 20 or so goals in the danish league, a fairer price to reflect the risk would have been around half what we paid, but thats the past. even in the youtube videos he looked a poor player to me though. i wonder who was our competition to sign him? i think it was a bigger club, so we had to pay over the odds in the fee and wages to secure him.
He's history and should be consigned to the forget bin - so long as there is a big learning point for the club in this huge mistake. We have more important things to focus on now.
I agree with this to a point There are NO experienced managers out there who have not signed at least one dud, I like malky but I also think he put too much trust in his scouting team who were also his mates Moody deservedly got the first bullet and malky went next for his refusal to admit to a catastrophic howler (or two ) Only one winner in this saga is Cornelius' agent ........
Cornelius was a massive mistake. However this just says thats what Leicester valued him at. They wouldnt have got him for that though.
