Is increasing the less than 5% contribution from footballs commercial income to grass roots football a bad thing?

Is increasing the comically small say / influence fans have in the game also a bad thing?

What is being mentioned is not new. Politicians left and right have stated similar.

he makes promises to everything and everyone where he might steal a vote .. there must be as many people supporting grassroots football as the top 6 divisions .. to him if can add 5000 more voters to vote for him he might win a seat some where …!

Well the EPL should distribute more money down the pyramid.

However he is deluded if he thinks football can't be a business - that genie is out of the bottle

We all agree a bigger share of funding down the pyramid should be done and and fans should have more influence and involvement with their chosen clubs, what I can't stand is a bogus, biased politician trying to buy votes and influence under the false cloak of trying to bring help to the world of football and raise taxation by soaking the club owners.

Support and priciples yes, poitical interference and leftwing control of sport via false ideology no.

It would not be a taxation on owners because it would be money distributed from the EPL's commercial revenue. At present the EPL distributes commercial money to the FA, but also frequently redirects that money back to its own projects of its own members.

We all agree a bigger share of funding down the pyramid should be done … Clearly we all do not because the funding as a % of income to the EPL has dropped.

Its not left wing control of Sport. Its a view held on both sides of the house. The Labour party were mooting this 5% figure before Mr Corbyn became leader. Its a consistent from Labour.

in the course of a year agents get approaching a £bn? in fee's ..fat cat money …
if the buying [ premier ]club was to pay 15% of the agents fee to a pool for teams in say div 8 -12 [5 -12 ]that would help secure them!
If 5% was levied on prem clubs gate money and 5 % of TV earnings put in a pot and then used to support teams outside div 12 maybe by application? say application once every 4 years? then that should help them?
Of course the existing % could be raised for 3 EFL leagues by say 3 - 5% but no money paid to those on parachutes

You get £100m for finishing bottom of the EPL

If every EPL Team took £10m less that would give a pot of £200m to distribute

    There easy!!
