Paris St-Germain centre half, Marquinhos, opened the scoring in the first half, before a second-half penalty from Neymar and a late Gabriel Barbosa goal sealed a comfortable victory. The second game of the opening night saw Colombia beat Ecuador 1-0 thanks to Edwin Cardona's finish after a cleverly-worked free-kick. The goal was initially ruled out for offside, but VAR overturned the decision. Thanks for this thread RTB, missed out on this so far, but watching South American football on home turf is usually well worth the effort.
Yeah I think this is the first time that the BBC have shown live games from the Copa America. The time difference does not help I suppose. Paraguay beat Bolivia 3-1 in the other game early this morning.
Shame they are on at such a late hour. Since the lock down I have been getting up earlier and earlier, and even falling asleep watching the Euro's, the Scotland game should be more competitive so I'm looking forward to that one, but I am not too bothered about who wins it tbh. I,m no fan of Southgate and I much prefer South American flair to the European tactical game anyway, since about 1958 I think.
Thanks mate , agree with what you say even down to 10 men, harshly I thought at the time they almost scored and probably should have in the last minute or so, and as with most of their attacks Cuadrado was the catalyst, he was in a class of his own and a throwback to the days when Colombia were wonderful to watch. I thought it was a decent game but too one sided.
