our forum has always been "of Interest " having not just a plethora of football orientated football but also a few subjects that are pertinent to our well being. In some instances, alleviating the repetitive often boring repeats of the antics of BCFC .............. Since I was able to walk I have been an outdoors person, and appreciate every thing in the natural world. The past few months [year ] [ especially since lock downs started ] watched dozens of different films/ documentaries on our planet and its demise and the harm we are doing ourselves. Earthshot was the pinnacle, although it showed various aspects it was by no means the be all and end all, other programmes have been more intense in delving into the problems... sort of out of mind out of sight! COP 26 when 100's of countries bandy about ideas and make fragile promises we are going to clean up our act!!! We will see............ here is a couple of questions:- Who generates the most plastic drink bottles annually? How many billions of less than 70cl plastic bottles go into circulation annually How many get recycled [ % ] What is becoming part of the human body due to its transgression through the food chain Which country [ biggest victim ] in the world is mostly reliant on no further sea level increase. What is one driving factor behind the oceans warming ... and NOT antartic or arctic, where is the biggest danger from melting ice. HEADS IN THE SAND 2 of the biggest countries in the world are the biggest victims of climate warming, strange how these are the biggest contributors to Global warming and yet do very little to alleviate the problems they generate.

The government should stop this climate net zero and bankrupting the country nonsense that the likes of Russia, China and Germany will not sign up to anyway, and they will laugh at us as they carry on regardless, and instead look at the pollution issues this country has. Only 17% of British beaches are deemed to be safe enough for swimming from, there were 400,000 instances of water companies dumping waste water into British rivers last year, water run off from farmland into rivers and waterways containing pesticides, toxic waste etc etc.
Actually whilst it may cost a few bob now if we do not bring things to a halt in many cases instead of using the £m we will be using the £bn .. and some of the measures will actually be financially beneficial in the shorter term as well as long term... These actions have become a necessity, as the population increases the intensity to grow more food is required. Whereas years ago a farmer would grow within the capabilities of nature they now have to rotate crops quicker and use chemicals. they have always used chemicals but used to come in 5 gallon tins with pyramid tops! Usually last 2 seasons, depending on acreage. SEWAGE is a different problem ..loop holes allowing for more profit to pay shareholders or foreign investors. As populations rise, imagine a town the size of Weston S-M [ being given over to all the immigrants of the past 2 years, the artificial rise of population ] and how much sewage they generate. Well the utilities do not build extra capacity ... that would cost profit .. easy to dump using loopholes or risk not being caught.
Peat bogs amazing storage cells, they are a small area of the world, a minute% but hold a noticeable % of stored Co2. Now banned in grow bags we use recycled green bin waste, which is about 20% the cost of same amount of peat would be, so we use more of it. Highlighted on one of tv progs was it was great, cheap grow bags, but what to do with it when our gardens are full or peeps recycle into their green bins after use!! My back garden in the near 40 years I have been here has increased in height by some 6" simply by composting, buying 4 growbags annually and adding over the years about 40 bags of manure A peat bog grows about 1cm every decade, obviously gets denser the deeper it gets [ pressure of additions above ] 10 metres is back to the last interglaciation 10-12k years ago. The Somerset levels were for centuries cut for their peat, some down to the clay, layer last seen as the surface 10's of 000's years ago ... guess what? now gets horrendous flooding and a lot is below sea level or close to! WE HAVE learned a lesson destroyed a peat bog releasing billions [ maybe trillions world wide ] of tons of CO2. But all over the world regeneration of peat bog remnants are being carried out .... every little helps!

The LOESS plateau, an area the size of France with a population of 80m was until 25-30 years ago a Lunar landscape, the source of the mammoth river called the yellow river, the colour simply being the erosion medium [ loess ] it is yellow. Imagine BEING TOLD OVERNITE you will not do this or this or that, like cut down tree's herd goats or sheep and a few other detrimental to the environment things, instead every one will get paid to do this that and the other. Terrace hillsides plant millions of trees and plants ............. now 25 years later more than 80% of that land mass, loess is very fertile, supports the population and is a green and prosperous land. 1 resident stated we now have a house food money a living, and our few pigs and chickens get fed better than we did 25 years ago! .... it can be done! one thing I have learned in the past 12 month's [ watching and reading, and wishing I had taken notes! ] is nearly everything that affects the planets ill health can be addressed ... the stumbling block is the politicians, the .gov's. 1for may say the greedy moguls, the profiteers and to a small degree he is right, there are self centred greedy people, but a lot are trying that are not. AND nearly every project is a better financial return or wellbeing bonus ........

Found a photo of the sycamore tree at bottom of garden dated 1994 when it was 20ft ... now 20+m and of concern! however it was dated November 1st and had very few leaves on it those left were autumn colours .. at the moment very few leaves have dropped and tree is quite green still, ... seasons changing? .............looks like December before leaves are off .......

well finally over, plus the extra day! [ of course ] what did it achieve ... no guarantee's of 1.5 degrees ... and a lot of worry for island countries [ countries ] with land below 4m ASL. listening to a number of countries giving their thanks to Alok, along with there dismay or partial acceptance gave some pretty emotional comments. In past 10 years or less, some of them have lost due temp rise/ ocean volumn increasing large tracts of their coast. Maybe worst is Bangladesh, not so much as total land mass, but salt water killing the vegetation which was keeping it stable and now it is gently washed away bit by bit on each tide! like a lot on here we have experienced 6-8 decades of change. As a child I can remember some of the street lights in my town being extinguished about 10pm, or lighting the lights in my grans house with a long taper, carefully as did not want to damage the mantle ..... No tele, very very few cars .. collecting car numbers 1-999 was 2 or 3 years ! bed was about 8pm .... winter or often summer as well ... goodness wernt they hot summers and cold winters with 4-6" snow at a time. It was so quiet, hardly a plane in the sky and the blue was like the peak of lock down .... Oh how our [ senior ] generation and offspring have screwed it up... ozone holes, rising sea levels loss of millions of species as we deforest everywhere.. fish out the seas kill off the wild life pollute the oceans, expand the deserts etc etc etc ... one of our punishments is we are now besieged by 100' of 000's of migrants homing in the "promised land" which will reach the camels back and then where will they go??? It is inevitable that within a few years, probably before BCFC reach's their hoped for promised land our generation will have departed. Strange really the vast majority of the worlds population do not give a t ss, they are in their shell, no or little thoughts of anyone else ... go to work, come home watch tele put kids to bed watch tele go to bed get up go to work have their annual holiday, often leaving a mess behind, [ or days out, disposable nappies buried in the sand, often above high water for next days kids to dig up] ... Of course on the other side you have the same pattern from the scroungers, often getting more money than hard working but selfish [ some of them ] paid for by them .. free health care? ... uuuum thought we had free care should you be in the NI scheme! ...maybe not if you were not born here but took advantage of the generosity!!! I am not selfish, I do my bit I cannot say it pays for all that I have erronously contributed toward ... in a nutshell my carbon foot print! but at least I am and have endeavoured to balance the scale ... when I go my carbon goes with me... !!!!!
