Carlisle have re-signed Hull City defender Liam Cooper on a one-month loan deal. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/12647991.stm I assume Cullen will be next out.
I think we need to get Cullen on a refereeing course first, as it may be the only way he gets to learn that football has what is known as an 'Offside Rule'.
Cullen's been a big disappointment and must be well down the pecking order. Anyone know how long his contract's for?
Dayng! Oh well, good news for cooper though, he could become a class player if he wad nurtured properly
im not ruling cullen out completely.. andy carroll looked a complete donkey for a few years.. wont be expecting 35m for him anytinme soon tho
Got to agree with WhiteRoseTiger about his persistent offside but surely someone is capable of bringing out the best in him. I know Peter Taylor tried but was he the right choice? I think Grimsby would benefit him as it didn't do Devitt any harm.
Agree with DJ, Carroll looked average but had potential, still think there is a good player tucked away in Cullen somewhere.
He's quick, he's still young, he'll come good I'm sure. He seems to be a confidence player. I'm sure once he finds his feet he'll be successful. He needs a run of games at a side doing well in L1 or L2 that plays football on the deck. Hoofball isn't going to be of any benefit too him.
Also I trust Nigel and his team enough to judge whether he deserved a contract extension, must show the ability in training at least. I still have faith he'll develop into a decent player and he can't be on much money. But he does need to go out on loan and to be playing regular football, in a a team that creates chances preferably.
I trust Nigel too, but even he can't judge how good a player is three months before he's seen him play. Cullen and Cairney got extensions last March, Pearson joined us in June.
Good move for cooper although I did think he has already signed on for the rest of the season then got crocked (wrist injury wasn't it?).
To be fair you got me, I had an inkling it was done possibly before he was here, but was too lazy to google. I'm sure one of the kids got theirs/another one after N Pearson came though, read something on skysports not too long ago, has Cairney had his extended a year more even? Maybe im dreaming things.
Devitt got a new deal in January and Cairney also had his extended(though I'm not sure why when he had so long to run).
Cullen was still a bit lightweight.. he is a natural finisher but scuffed a couple of efforts in the early season when he was being picked.. After he scored all those goals in reserves I predicted loud and clear he'd burn up the npc... was way off on that one! Hope he makes it - needs some goals..
