Bristol City coach explains why club took different transfer approach with first-team star ‘We needed to nurture him from inside the club,’ said the Bristol City coach on why Conway didn’t leave https://www.bristolworld.com/sport/...stol-city-coach-explains-key-decision-3815315
This kid has pace-eye for goal and passion something we need to see on a regular basis at Ashton Gate.
The proof will be when teams are aware of his ability, man marking etc.. does look a breath of fresh air, let’s hope he stays injure free and continues his run of form..
It's exciting to see our young players stepping up. I hope: 1. As 1for said they don't get injured. 2. They don't get poached by a Prem team One thing I DON'T like about Conway (and Scott) - they support Prem teams (Arsenal and Tottenham) - WTF is that all about? Neither of them are from North London - they should support Bristol City............ Bloody plastics.....
Glory hunter kids.. I had Leeds as a so say 2nd team back in the 70s which lasted a few years.. Only been City for me in reality..!!
My Dad was a huge Man Utd fan immediately after the war although he could never explain why. He made all the right contacts during is football playing days and could get tickets for any game. Suffice to say he thought I should support Man Utd in the 50s, I still remember our B/W Pye TV showing the Munich Air crash. 10 years later he took me to see Utd beat Benfica at Wembley after watching Piggott win the Epsom Derby. Our seats behind the Royal box cost £4 each. Like 1For I soon saw the light.
You could not, but admire the great players from Man U back in the day.. Duncan Edwards & co a little before my time, but watching the likes of Charlton, Law, Stiles, Morgan, and of course the brilliant Best etc, was just a joy..
I guess I am the next generation (or 2…) on from this. I grew up admiring the immense talents of Kenny Dalglish and the Liverpool team of the late 70s, early 80s. It’s when our Under 11s manager (who was on the board of directors at the time) at Axbridge football club took us to City games in our years of plummet through the leagues that sealed me as a City fan….
Sir Alex Ferguson, Sir Matt Busby, Bill Shankly, Brian Clough,Bob Paisly,Sir Alf Ramsey, Sir Bobby Robson, Bill Nicholson, Jock Stein........................Alan Dicks.. These are the greatest 10 UK managers I remember for different reasons but on a personal level I also thank Gary Johnson, Steve Cotterill and Terry Cooper, all achieved various honours for our club and I thank them.
I’m sure when Scott was growing up in Guernsey he followed us and thought I can’t wait to play for Bristol City. Conway was from Taunton so given his and Scott’s age possibly only saw football on TV. If they changed allegiance on their boyhood teams would that not make them fickle supporters. Like most I’m city due to family members and in it good or bad times. I hate the fans that grew up in Man U tops to change to Arsenal, Chelsea to Man City and Liverpool.
I'm sure we've all done it. I've always supported City but in addition, when I was at Junior school I also supported Chelsea in the run up to the 1970 FA Cup Final and continued to follow them through the signing of Chris Garland and relegation to Division 2 where they played us in 1974/5 ? We drew 1-1 at Stamford Bridge and 2-2 at the Gate. But I grew out of it
