This season has been the most enjoyable Celtic performance I’ve seen for a while.

As Celtic fans, none of us like watching Rangers win two titles in a row. Especially if we all know that both titles were very much attainable if we had the balls in the team.

WGS’s last season in charge looks something similar to Smith’s at the moment. The players that would come back to win games in the last minute, suddenly seemed void of fight. While there still some decent performances and reason to hope, we all knew that something was missing from our team.

I know a lot of you will say we ****ed that season up because of the boards lack of spending in the window. True, it did have an effect….But was it because they knew about WGS leaving and decided that the money was best saved to give to the new manager? After all, WGS was the man that brought us three in a row and the last 16 twice. Surly it was worth a punt?

Nope, because we got Tony Mowbray.

Tony Mowbray was the wrong choice. In hindsight, he was a manager who had come to accept mediocrity in most of the teams he managed. He could accept losing or drawing because he was in job’s where the best you can do, is good enough.

I’d like to say as a man that first backed him to the hilt, that the reason he failed was because of wholesale changes to the team and not been given enough time. But I can’t.

I can’t because Neil Lennon has shown that something was lacking in Tony’s style of management. Something that Lenny brings in abundance. A positive winning attitude and a hatred of losing.

We know that Lenny can gel a team together, change tactics successfully and make the players believe. He’s added three great coaches, brought in a left-back of genuine quality and a working, positive midfield that really need to fight for their positions. It’s no wonder we’re seeing Brown, Wilson and Samaras as if for the first time. We know now that if we take a beating at any point, there will be a marked reaction. A 15 game unbeaten run will do that to a team. We are back in the habit and it feels good.

In fact, I’m so convinced by Neil Lennon as manager, that I’ll go on record right now as saying Looven’s and Murphy will get game time before the end of the season and make us think twice about their worth to the team.

If by some reason Rangers come back strong and maintain that level throughout the rest of the season, wining every game, then they deserve to win the title. This is either going to be their greatest win against a manager they hate with a passion………or the capitulation of their grip on the league, while losing their successful manager and the possibility of leaner times ahead.

There is a distinct possibility we have waited until their darkest moment to kick them in the balls. A good boot in the arse of Smith as he leaves Ibrox and a huge get it up you to the ego’s of Murray and his succulent lamb loving sycophants.

To achieve this, we need Neil Lennon and the team to adhere to two things.

Zero complacency and the constant rumble of thunder.

    Hail, Hail

Very good post BZ. I really really wanted Mogga to suceed and play the kind of football we are presently seeing. I wasn't convinced at all at the appointment of a guy who had just got his badges buddying up with their old pals to run my football club. I thought this season would be a gimme and we'd somehow muddle through to the title. It hasn't turned out that way at all. its been a bit of a dog fight and what is abundantly clear is that this "rookie" is thinking his way through problems and coming up with the answers.

Regardless of what happens from here on in, I have been won over.

I'm plesently surprised by Lennon to be honest.

As much as i like my fellow county man i thought he was on a hiding to nothing at celtic.

Much like when he was signed as a player i wasnt sure he was up to being a top player - but he proved me wrong then and is doing so again.

Early days but i think Neil might just shock a few and go on to be remebered as fondly as O'Neill - and maybe might outshine him given the financial restraints.

There were a few bears on here who mocked me prior to the old firm game on 2nd Jan lennon might not last til the end of January and laughed at me when i said i felt McCoist will be sacked as Rangers boss before Lennon is........we'll see but i grow more confident by this comment as the days go on

It looks to be going well, and hopefully we'll be able to manage the squad by a few well scouted players when the time is right instead of the buy a team find out its ****e so try and buy another team and stop paying out fortunes to loads of guys you know are nowhere near the team.

I've heard loads of complaints about not getting another centre half but I agreed with the desicion not to buy if you can't get your top targets. Buying for the sake of buying left us with the likes of Rassmussan and hoovield they where never going to cut it.

And now I'm even more convinced. Better players, more energy, more able to mix it up tactically and simply a class above.
