W W D W W W W W ..........92 points MKD .. .. .. .. .. . W W D WW D W..................89 points using the worst possible scenario this is how using recent form ( 10 games ) based on 3 factors pans out..I say worst scenario as I have rounded down City 's ( eg 1.45 to 1 or 1.76 to 1.5 ) whereas others I rounded to nearest .25 ( eg 1.76 to 1. 75 ) to you the figures will mean nothing, to my calcs they do! v Swindon and PNE there was almost enough in it to make them both draws so City would have 93 pts PNE 92 pts Swindon 89 pts PNE v Swindon was pretty much a draw cast iron.. v Walsall, Walsall have performed well against top teams, BUT recently has all fallen out of bed to give a figure that is truly un realistic so used the period 5 games either side of 23 played and last 10 to get an average..... MKD could well win all remaining games.. the draws were extremely close! co in actual fact the figure to get point wise .. ... .... ..... ...... is 93!
If that proves the case I can't see any of us surviving to see next season ! I feel we will it this thing to bed in the next two weeks
Scenarios will change after every game involving promotion and relegation contenders. Despite many matches where we could have put another nail in our opposition's coffin we have failed several times this season and it is becoming scarily similar to the playoff final season when we dropped the ball. The last 2 matches against Doncaster and Barnsley were difficult in that both teams were in reasonable form and under most circumstances we would willingly accept a draw. However this run in is fraught with potential stumbling blocks and yet we remain top of the pile and have to keep our heads about us or we could see a repeat of a previous season. That is one of the reasons why we need to put Swindon's hopes to the sword in what might become the key game of the season and when we look back, hopefully from our lofty perch in the Championship, it will seem totally irrelevant. Believe but keep your fingers crossed beneath the table.
With PNE winning easily at Bradford the pressure is suddenly back on us again. We've had a massive lead but have thrown away 4 points against Barnsley and Oldham and if Preston beat us, and I reckon they will, we will only 2 points ahead. If we lose this title it will feel like we've only done the bare minimum after being top for so long, and basically we'll only have ourselves to blame for squandering points against the likes of Crewe, Colchester, Fleetwood etc etc. Ok. I know we're not Chelsea and this is after all the 3rd division
