    which players are worth resigning?

Arnold unsure, we need back up for bull but ingram may be enough
Mooney same as arnold, one or the other i think
Stewart would love to keep him, but i suspect an offer will come in
Tunnicliffe not good enough, inferior to winfield, johnson, stewart and doherty (if we can get him)
McNamee useless, no effort no commitment, get him out!!!!
Ainsworth would like to keep him on in a coaching role or something, may even be worth it as a player in league 2
Bloomfield commited to the team, think he has done enough this year to deserve another contract
Halls again like waddocks summer signings, not good enough
Scowen one for the future maybe
    Kewley-Graham same
Strevens. lot of effort but not a brilliant player. would get rid myself

    thoughts?

I think we need to consider these as how good will they be in L2. We won't be able to afford L1 and above players. We could save some money, and improve things, by having Ainsworth as player manager. He is the inspiration at the club.

I don't know how much it would cost to cancel Waddock's contract but maybe it would not be significant in the grand scheme of things if we had a major cost review, which is essential to stop the bleeding.

Firstly, we need to reduce expenditure to the extent that we can start making annual profits. Within that budget we need to establish what structure and staff we can afford and then establish some realistic (financially feasible) objectives. As far as managers are concerned, I'm not interested in ex managers who were sacked from top clubs. It's not rocket science to watch videos of how teams play and plan to nullify their strengths and exploit their weaknesses with the most suitable players available. Or to see what type of players are needed to win the majority of matches in a particular league. It's not rocket science to go and watch teams from lower leagues to spot talent. I'm sure we could pay expenses to volunteers to go and watch some lower league matches and make notes for the more experienced scouts to go and watch. This would spread the net further at lower cost and minimise the number of more qualified scouts required. It would also allow for other aspects of a players game to be noted (eg do they give 100% every week).

It would be very interesting to analyse the structure. I remember an exercise where every member of staff had to describe what they did, what they felt responsible for and who they felt was responsible for anything else they were involved in. Guaranteed to flesh out any over staffing and/or too many "managers".

Everything we aim to achieve costs something. So we need to look at what we have been aiming for and how much it is costing and lower our aims accordingly (cutting our cloth).

A slimmed down, enthusiastic team that we can afford is the way forward.

If the club continues to say we need this therefore we must have it, when we can't afford it, then either they must learn to lower their sights or we need a new team in place who can and will enthusiastically operate within a strict budget. But whatever we do undertake, it has to be done well. No good cutting costs by doing the same things poorly; we need to do less things but well.

totally agree ron,we should start with all the office staff,we dont need them all ,get rid of wasps and all their staff and go back to the family club that we used to be.i am fed up with phoning the ticket office and speaking to a yank who asks me do you want a ticket for rugby or SOCCER,what planet is he on,we dont play soccer its bloody football<grr>.bring back the friendly wanderers staff we were used to dealing with.we should as you say cut our cloth accordingly and should never in a million years be in the debt we are now.If steve hayes was to be jailed for his alleged computer hacking charges where would that leave him, isnt there a fit and proper to run a football club law that would come into place. As for waddock he needs to go after his woefull summer signings and lack of tactics and late substitutions.maybe ainsworth could do the job i dont really know but anyone but waddock in charge for me.I guess everything depends on wasps ,steve hayes and whether we go into admin in the summer.

Alright Jose, this is what I think - and I'm assuming we're in Lg 2 next season. Are these all the players whose contracts are up? We've also got to assume Beavon, possibly Bull and one or two others may leave us.

Arnold unsure, we need back up for bull but ingram may be enough - AGREE, BUT MAY NEED TO KEEP IF BULL WENT
Mooney same as arnold, one or the other i think - AGREE
Stewart would love to keep him, but i suspect an offer will come in - AGREE
Tunnicliffe not good enough, inferior to winfield, johnson, stewart and doherty (if we can get him) - AGREE BUT DON'T THINK WE'LL GET DOHERTY IF RELEGATED
McNamee useless, no effort no commitment, get him out!!!! - HE COULD DO A JOB IN LG 2
Ainsworth would like to keep him on in a coaching role or something, may even be worth it as a player in league 2 - THAT DEPENDS ON THE BIG MAN HIMSELF, IT WILL BE HIS CALL
Bloomfield commited to the team, think he has done enough this year to deserve another contract - YEP DEF IN LEAGUE 2
Halls again like waddocks summer signings, not good enough - AGREE
Scowen one for the future maybe - AGREE, KEEP FOR LEAGUE 2
    Kewley-Graham same SAME AS SCOWEN
Strevens. lot of effort but not a brilliant player. would get rid myself - MAYBE WORTH A SQUAD PLACE IN LG2

Big changes next season in the team I think.
