A lot has been made of the fact that Rob Elliot has only one year left in his contract, and could leave for nothing at the end of it, hence the attempts to sell him. And contrasting this with the likes of Jackson and Wagstaff who signed longer deals.

He's not the only one though, BWP is in exactly the same boat, as he only signed an 18 month contract in January, and yet I've never seen anything about the club trying to get him to sign a longer deal, when he's arguably an even more important player?

Interesting to read todays DM who state Toon will be back with an improved offer for Robbie.
Also interesting to see they consider he would triple his salary to £12k a week.
Personally I wouldnt say no to his £4k a week.

I hope we screw Pardew over for a few quid. After all he spent a lot of our hard earned cash on some really poor players. Can't stand Pardew at all, though I hear he is up to his old tricks again, by playing away from home. What a ****er he is.

Agree with pretty much all points, think it's no bad thing to cash in on Elliott, and think the BWP contract should be a priority, if he hasn't signed a new one. I'd hate to think we lose him in January for the sake of a few hundred thousand which costs us promotion.

2 seasons ago, Leeds had Jermaine Beckford in a similar situation, and they kept him for the season, knowing he would leave for nothing, and it (just about) paid off, as they squeaked in ahead of us...

If Pardew has an ounce of decency in him, he knows how close we went to bankruptcy, he should offer at least a million....with add ons!!

Pardew - Decency. Hardly words that go together. Ask Dailly's wife for starters.

Nowt wrong with the apostrophe, Tewks.

Priapus was the grotesque son of Dionysus. His monstrous genitals led him upon a wayward path.

Alliteration announces an awful account alluding along annotative arguments and associated axioms.
