I am sure after his form over the last two weekends, most of us would
Like to see Anthony Stokes get a new contract. I think he has been
Brilliant against the Dundees. I think his control and passing is a lot
Better than before his injury and if he continues playing like he has in
these two games he could become one of our best strikers.
The good news is that Stokes and Paddy McCourt are both involved in
new contract talks , and both have the same agent. So maybe that
Would help to speed things up.

Hopefully Stokes gets a contract and keeps up the good work and , what seems, a apositive attitude.

The problem with players looking for a new contract is the often over perform, get new contract and go back to their old ways.

In terms of McCourt , not really fussed... as a footballer he really should seek a move away to get regular football if he can. 82 games in 5 seasons...

Maybe Paddy is being kept for training...if you can tackle him you can tackle anyone

Not Stokes' biggest fan if i am honest. Got the ability but is he worth it in the long run? As Pud says, i can see him getting a new contract having played brilliantly for 4 months, to then spend the next season on the bench.

Stokes and Paddy love Celtic, they are ideal men to verse new players into the
traditions of the Celtic and the high standards expected from everyone to do
with the club. They are also ideal people to advise new players where and
    where not to socialise.

Is the contract not for players as opposed to club ambassadors???

I love Celtic, I'm half Oirish (we all are, right!?) and I know Glasgow <ok>

I'm waiting by the phone now!

I think Neil Lennon said recently that he recognised a number of players would come
And go. He wanted some players to stay to have some stability. Lennon mentioned
Manchester United and the number of long time servers there. I am sure he was
thinking of that family man Ryan Giggs and maybe hoping the new young players
would sew their wild oats near to home.

I dont know what Stokes has to do to prove, to some people, how big an asset he is to Celtic. I will let them look up the stats on his goals and assists for Celtic as showing them would appear to be a waste of time. <doh>

You can bang in goals if you want, but if you dont have the right attitude or there are doubts about a players attitude, do you deserve a new contract?

If Stokes signs, and I wouldn't be too disappointed if he did, I'd suggest he's a squad player...defo not the first choice - especially if Celtic sell Hooper.

He's a squad player at best, i agree. He's definitely not part of our best first 11, that's for sure.
