Considering his ban, how would we line up had Suarez stayed.

A lot of people are talking about how we are missing or have failed to replace Suarez. But had Suarez stayed the story may not be that different due to his ban. We may in fact be even worse off.

Had Suarez stayed I do believe we still would have made most of our signings. But not Balotelli. In that scenario we would be even more reliant on Sturridge, who's injury was inevitable with England's fitness methods.

So, had Suarez stayed, how the hell would we be lining up right now?

  2. Had Suarez stayed, would we have signed Balotelli...? Not blaming him, he just doesn't fit the style we were previously playing.

A first team striker may not have been seen as priority.

Maybe Origi would not have een loaned though.

We needed to spend around 30mil+ on a quality striker that can come deep and cause a few problems in build up play, and we got Balotelli instead and don't give him any service. The one ball that found him in the box v the Hammers he plucked out of the air and it led to Sterling's goal.

Get him the ball in the box and he will cause problems.

Move on from Suraez - he has nothing to do with us anymore, like it or lump it.

Ballotellli quite simply needs Sturridge next to him, then I believe the 2 palying together will get us plenty of goals - Sturridge doing the running and Balotelli being the hitman in the box.

Plus Sterling causing chaos - I'm still optimisitc about our 3 main attacking threats, unfotunately we have yet to see them all in action together (I think?)!

It is a rather poinltess question as it REALLY doesn't impact on our CM problems and that IMO is where we are being totally disasterous.

Get a strong settled CM to protect the defence better, and we'll see a lot more confidence in our CB's.

    could do sort of,

what about luis made space up top to make it an easier decision for who to pass the ball to from midfield, we look too static up top and none of them are pulling players out of position like Luis did and sturridge does.

not all down to the midfield, we look a shambles all over.

No sorry... making space and closing down is one thing but if you look at what we are doing we are basically incapable of getting turn in and around the centre cisrlce the defensive line is dropping deeper, we can't pass it ten yards and the only forward passes are from the cbs half the time.

If midfield was working we'd be ten yards further up the pitch and loo better.

v west ham we took our nominally best player and put him right wing back in effect... that shows a total shambles in midfield. yes manquillo was getting tormented... who came over to help him? nobody.

sure we are static up top. I hate badontelly. I hate his style and hwo he just runs deep and not towards goal but still.... its a pointless debate. suarez would still be out and sturridge would prob still be injured.
