Christ Mick doesn't mess around does he!

Firstly, this 100% spells the end for Nouble. He'll be off for sure, so that's decent.

I don't see how this signing works though!? McGoldrick/Murphy are surely the first choice, and I read Salmon is on £20,000 p/w at Derby ( no idea if true ) so obviously we're covering a %%% poss 30/40. But surely we're not going to do this simply for him to be a sub!?

Surely he's similar to Murphy in the strong man, though reading reports he may be a bit of an Alan Lee battering ram? Apparently his finishing is guff ( check out goal record ) but he sets plenty up so may help the midfield score/create space.

All in all probably a Mick McCarthy signing and at least puts pressure on the front two, better than our back up so I guess a better use of wages than Taylor.

Always good to have strength in depth. I still get angry when I remember Kuqi being out for a month in 04-05 and Scowy not delivering!

Welcome Connor, please enjoy your football and be better than out last fish related signing ( Mark Fish was an absolute disaster )

Just to be picky, tehnically its Sammon so no fish there at all!
we have been linked with him for several windows now and I have never really understood why. In addition to what looks like a poor record we also signed Badger who should have similar attributes to both Murphy & Nouble. Although Taylor was never going to play at least he offered something difference when he was used.
I suppose he does fit into the MM ethos and to be fair to MM alot of his signings have seemed poor at face value but have had a much better impact than the exciting signings of Chopra/ the macedonian Steven Gerrard/ JET etc so we will just have to see how he fits into the team.

Overall not inspiring but will give MM the benefit of the doubt. No need to moan (yet)

Very disappointed with this. Not wanting to write him off before he kicks a ball for us but the guy is absolute toilet. I know a few Derby supporting mates who laugh about how appalling he is... a trier but with no technical ability, horrific first touch and an almost as shocking when it comes to putting the ball in the net.. ala Frank Nouble <yikes>

What surprises me most is that he is basically a poor man's Daryl Murphy and will likely be a sub (as he was at Derby)

He doesn't offer us anything different, (see Murph & Nouble) and won't improve what we currently have. An all round disappointing decision

would seem to be back up to Murphs, big guy who works the defence but better than nouble. From what i have heard, he is an intelligent player who pulls defences around to make space for the other players in the team.

Jury out though on this one.

So long as he keeps Nouble out of the first team I will be a very happy man! <ok>

    Kuqi/ Lee/ Sammon.

" a trier but with no technical ability, horrific first touch and an almost as shocking when it comes to putting the ball in the net "

Sound familiar on Kuqi / Lee what we heard before we bought!?

I can only imagine that Nouble will be offered out on loan because of this.. To have both on the bench would be an unnecessary over abundance of useless lumps in one squad

Whether we can read into this that Mick maybe doesn't see Badger making any impact for some time remains to be seen.

Banj will take a month, Nouble should go on loan with Marriott in the squad as 4th choice for me.

Mclaren said his chances at Derby limited because of Martin and Best, he should get more playing time at Ipswich,!! Why oh why do we take other championship clubs castoffs? Would much rather a young, promising striker that brings something different but how silly of me!!
You guys seriously think this means the end for Noufuckingble, dream on!!

Norwich just sold Pilkington to Cardiff, I wonder how they'll spend the million they got for him?

When I've seen the guy I've been quite impressed particularly with his movement. He's a big man who I think can hold the ball up but also get in behind the defence and work the channels, I do have to say his finishing has never impressed though. He surely can't be that bad technically if Martinez and Clough have signed him?

I'm actually fairly positive about this, I can see Mick and TC getting the best out of him. Only think I would say is like others it would've been nice to see something a little different but I geuss that's standard Mick, dissapointed to see Taylor go as he's the kind of player to get you off your seat unfortunately Mick 'doesn't do' that sort of player, so just the predictable.

Hopefully that will be the end of Nouble!!
