Who would have thought it? Pitman - a premiership player! Along with Bolasie - how the fxx did we get relegated with those - and Albert in the side?!!!!!!
well done and good luck to them, watched a bit of the game, and only a pitch invasion, no points deduction, I trust.!
Amazing achievement and all done the right way. The biggest surprise of a small club punching way above their weight since the likes of Carlisle and Luton went to the top division.
They play the ball on the ground but I remember it not being that long ago when they started the season on Minus 17 points and remarkably stayed up. Six years later they have achieved this. Makes me think that the chance of us joining them can be more of a reality than a pipe dream
Yeah a real success story, very rare these days. They have a good young manager who plays football th right way. They will struggle to hold on to him after next season
Don't be fooled - they have a very rich Russian financing them I'm seeing quite a few Bournemouth shirts in Dorchester now - I'm tempted to ask them where they were when they were sh*t On the pitch Howe has been very clever - he's got a young hungry side that play very good attacking football. He's picked up people from the lower leagues (like Ritchie) and made them better players
Well, and Barnsley, Swindon, Bradford and co as well, but most of the other smaller clubs had some pedigree/history. Carlisle and Luton had neither.
'Don't be fooled - they have a very rich Russian financing them' smhbcfc - I've pinched this from otib : Transfer spend for the last five years at Bournemouth is c. £7m By contrast, for the same time period: Cardiff - £61m Norwich - £54m Fulham - £53m Wigan - £40m Forest - £23m Bolton - £23m If the above is correct then I think your final paragraph is more likely to be the reason Bournemouth are Premier bound rather than a rich Russian.
With a few tweaks I can't see why we can't do the same thing......sometimes it's not about money but having the right chemistry from players to manager etc. I believe that's what they have, I also believe we have the same. At that level?.....next season will give us a better idea!
The problem with all these clubs are that none of them are currently in the top two divisions, could be that battling it out with the big boys isn't good in the long run?
I think it's more to do with bad management within the clubs....You need consistent success if your club is looking to grow..
Did you know there were more fans at the Rovers/Alfreton game (11,085) than Bournemouth/Bolton (10,070)
