I just thought you'd all like to know that former Addicks defender Linvoy Primus was awarded an MBE in the New Years Honours, in recognition of his charity work down here in the Beautiful South. Linvoy was a product of our youth system and as a youngster was offered an apprenticeship by both Charlton and West Ham. He chose Charlton because he thought he would be better treated by us. He only made a total of 14 appearances for Charlton in two spells. He was transferred to Barnet in 1994 and eventually made his way to Pompey on a Bosman in 2000. The Milton Stand, that we all sit in when we visit Fratton Park has been renamed the Linvoy Primus Community Stand. His charity work has also involved working with Gavin Peacock, son of Kieth. The Addicks connection is strong. Linvoy is a top bloke and even though he didn't play many games for Charlton, I think we can offer him our congratulations on his gong.
Congratulations Linvoy. But now that you mention Gavin, he's had a tough time recently - suggesting women should submit to their men.
They really love him down Pompey way. A funny and naturally charming guy from what I've heard. A richly deserved award.
