Just added another promotion to his CV, what a guy.

Also, if Grimsby Town and Ferriby both triumph in their respective play-offs, then what a season for the Radio Humberside clubs.

I'm sure that's Dawson's 6th promotion. One with Scunthorpe first spell, four with us and now this one.

    Hope Ferriby make it.

I don’t care that much about the other two clubs but I hope Grimsby fail in their play off bid.

Wilcox has been given the purse strings to bring in the likes of Paddy Madden and Paul Hayes – promotion was to be expected -though they've drawn more than they won and I think Dawson isn't that well thought of by their fans.

Personally, I still think Wilcox is a bit of a prick after they way he treat us in the early 90s – he had a ridiculous hair style back then too.

They’re very low on my hate list but I hope they come bottom of Div 3 next year.

Not forgetting Russ Wilcox who has done a brilliant job there, nice to see some success for ex City players, shame he lost his unbeaten record on game 29.

Incredible how some players just get promoted season after season.

    Look at our Kevin Phillips.

5 promotions to the Prem, awesome achievement.

It's good for the Humberside region, but personally GY 'can die as soon as they want'.

Remind me again, what happened there? I can't recall how he left us. I remember him having an amazing season with us though when he swept POTY awards. An away game at Leeds Road particularly sticks in the mind.

What a side terrace that was btw.

In the days pre-Bosman he was out of contract and basically refused to play for us again.

He went somewhere ****ter – Donny or Peterboro’ – bit like the David ‘No No’ Norton situ but a bit more spiteful as I recall.

Think we got stiffed on a tribunal regarding the fee to wherever he went. Summat like 12k I'm sure.

Leeds Rd - that big old away terrace - had a lot of character.

Shame how we entertained a lot of them, but got rid of Jacobs when he was injured.

TF an agent now isn't he?

Remember Ternent signing him from Blackburn for about 30k.

Dirty as **** on the pitch I recall but pretty ****.

I used to hate Grimsby, but they've been so far behind us, for so long, I no longer care.

    Same here.

But, they’ve been a proper rival before unlike Scunthorpe.

I agree they’re off the radar these days.

But, best to keep it that way.

I don't think we've played Grimsby in the league in my life time. I don't mind them.

I think you are confusing the tv area with the radio areas of which there are several between here and Kings Lynn.

The towns you mention are in Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Lincolnshire- a long way from Humberside.

as a proud yorkshireman (myself) once said to a seemingly proud humbersideman (yourself), humberside is no more than a set of boundaries made up by TV executives based in London for technical and (small 'p') political exediency. i think you'll that BBC Radio Humberside DOES broadcast to the towns I afore-mentioned but not to York or Scarboro which are places more realistically within our geographical region!

LincolnTiger is far more qualified and closer to the issue than I. I guess he can give you the full SP on how Auntie continues to steal the cultural heritage of both Yorkshire and Yellow Belly folk.

But true. Apparently August 2 is now Humberside Day, according to Auntie Beeb anyway. Hahaha. It's pathetic!
