One of the few who stayed quite on our crossboard threads before todays game. Sounds like you lot played well and to your strengths and fully deserved the win, not sure we played brilliantly but you deserved it. Good luck for the rest of the season
No they didn't about ten very vocal posters did as we are a large board then they represent a small minority many such as myself thought it would be a hard game for us.

Why did they all leave with 10 minutes to go then if they are such loyal fans? they streamed out. Giving it large on here, we're brilliant! we haven't failed to score! were top of the league! Lambert is way better than Maynard! All rubbish, we battered them! and as for Lambert? Could have been 4 or 5.
Completely agree with thattheresaintsfan. I thought it might be a draw maybe an edged saints win but you guys have come out and outplayed us fair and square. Theres a lot of nobheads on our forum (pretty much the ones who are replying "well we are top of the league so screw you" to everything) and i apologise for their lack of grace. Deserved city win so well done you lot and on todays performance I hope you start getting away from that drop zone
Thanks Frank & TTSF, very sporting of you both......hope the Saints return to the big time. We played superbly today, so hope we can aviod the drop because next season under Del Boy, we could well have a great chance of our first visit to the Premier League!!!

I will say this though. People leaving early at the end of games happens wherever you go, but please dont question the loyalty of saints fans. When you see your team drop from the premiership to league 1, go into administration and have points deducted so your bottom of league 1 before even starting, but still selling 26000 odd regularly for home games and filling away game allocations while wondering whether there will even be a Southampton FC in the next season. And then setting club attendance records in the championship and still filling away allocations. While I dont condone what idiots on our forum are saying to you City fans after today, i can understand their heads getting a bit inflated at the moment, as even with such loyal support we havnt really had much to be happy/hopeful about for a good 7-8 years before the Adkins/Liebherr era. But as I said before, well played today you deserved the win.
Frankimus, fair shout my apologies. But that 7 or 8 years you mention makes it even more amazing to me with some of your fans attitude before this game Wish you well!
Yeah i wasnt condoning what they are doing. Just the fact that now that we actually have something cheer about some people take it too far ya know?
Crowing about wins before they've actually been gained is rarely a good idea, but you'll find that all clubs have a few who cannot win or lose graciously. Thanks for good wishes from the fairminded Saints fans. We were deserving winners yesterday and Ricky Lambert didn't live up to the expectations of some......but you know what........I wouldn't want to be your next opponents 'cos I reckon someone might cop it.
