Young and Trollope - which way is this heading? I don't feel we need both.

Do we need a so called assistant manager whose involvement in first team affairs, coaching them and issuing instructions from the technical area during games seems destined to be ditched.

Trollope has arrived a dozen games too late for me - the writing was on the wall after the Rotherham game if not before. Early days for him, but if Tuesday is going to be typical of our immediate management approach, we need Young orchestrating things like a hole in the head.

That may seem a bit unkind, but I blame the club as much as Young. The Trollope appointment appears to be an admission of a huge mistake by the club in insisting Slade accept him as his number 2.

It could also be Slade's biggest personal mistake regarding his own future here by accepting it.

Best to sit back and see how this plays out. As ever football is a results orientated game.

The next 2 games are crucial and anything less than 2 points will see the fickle finger of fate pointing furtively in the direction of Slade and Young again. 4 to 6 points will give the impression of all rosy in the garden.

Maybe it's too early for Trollope to have had an effect and the performance against Blackburn was just a coincidence??? I don't think so.

Slade has been at pains to make the point that he'd only taken one training session before the game, but I bet he's brought some much needed realism into the cosy setup that has taken us downwards.

Only time will tell I know, but I'm going for a convincing performance and 3 points at Huddersfield to underline the new found urgency that was lacking before his arrival.

Young needs to return to his former role with the youth setup. Gabbs should be released to go to that MLS side before the season is out and allow us to go forward - even with Slade at the moment.

Taking up the points tally issue we should expect from these next two games on the road - 4 for me must be a minimum.
