It would seem that we had two definitive RB targets that we were willing to bid for. €7m (£5.9m) for Sagawara vs a rejected £6m for Aarons. Both are 24, both are 5'10", one is an international and the other with extensive experience for England U21s. If it's to be believed that Bournemouth wanted £10m for Aarons then it makes sense that we don't go there as he's probably not worth nearly twice the money. I would expect that Sagawara's wage demands are lower also. I guess time will tell whether he makes the step-up to PL level from the Eredivisie. Hopefully he'll take to it like Tadic or Pelle as opposed to a Clasie
Still making us look completely skint, but it could still be that we have so many positions to try to improve that we are just being smart where we can be, and are saving the real money for the areas we can’t skimp on. We’ll only find that out as the window goes on.
Provinding he times them to perfection he should be ok if he doesn't hopefully he will learn quickly.
He's gone, you have to accept that. He was told last year he could leave if we had a acceptable offer. He has also rejected a contract extension too.
