Was one of the first names that came into my head at the start of the window when thinking of strikers, would be happy to sign him on a similar deal to what Sheffield United did, although Villa might not be happy about that and getting him back again next summer
All I can say for a fact is that Alex has very, very good direct ties to Archer’s agent (somebody I know)
Im wondering if now the ABK deal sounds like it’s done we have released the purse strings slightly. Romano said in his tweet that we only enquired about Ugochukwu today, and this Archer news appears to have happened quickly. I’m sure moves can be done very quickly at this point in the window. We may have been working on them for awhile but it’s just so hard for no leaks to happen in this day and age
Think there’s probably still a bit too much to do, plus RM is very against playing people who haven’t trained with group
It'll be interesting to see the fee. They got £18.5m last year but he wasn't exactly great at Sheff Utd so it'll be less than that. Talking of which, not sure how I feel about signing the bottom clubs from last seasons front line!
Sheffield were absolutely **** though. Barely created anything. Archer can finish for sure. If we create chances for him he can put them away. Quite like the look of this one.
Trying not to get too hopeful but if you get a team that's something like... Ramsdale/Johnstone Sugawara Harwood-Bellis Bednarek Walker-Peters Downes O'Riley Ugochukwu Armstrong Archer Brereton Diaz Then that's pretty exciting for a promoted side
