Les Reed: "Jay is naturally disappointed, but is determined to get back playing for Southampton as soon as possible. Jay asked us to pass on his gratitude to everybody who has shown him their concern and sympathy. Everyone at the Club wishes Jay well and we will support him, along with his family.”

He'll miss pre-season too, so it could be 2015 before he's back to his best again.

We'll almost certainly have added someone to his position by then.

Yes, but there's no guarantee they will settle. Look at Mayuka and Ramirez.

****. He was doing everything right to earn his place in the WC squad. Let's hope the other Saints in the England squad go to Brazil and win it for Jay!

Hopefully we'll be spending a little more than we did on Mayuka. Gaston may actually be able to step in and do well.

I feel so sorry for you Jayrod. It was clear from the start of Saturdays game how much you wanted I show the world against city just what you could do.

Speedy recovery, take us into Europe and then yourself to Euro 2016.

He's young, he's super fit, he'll get the very best of treatment and re-hab, and medical procedures are improving all the time. This is just a temporary set back, though pretty awful timing.
