Anyone needing to confess to any sins, post away! I will start with a particularily unforgivable one.

My son, aged 6 has decided he loves Chelsea. Obviously I am teaching him the way of the hoops so hopefully a phase he will grow out of! His birthday was last week, and I cracked to pressure and got him a Chelsea sports bag. Couldn't bring myself to get the shirt, so I tried.

Forgive me people. I have sinned :-)

Does he still believe in Santa? I cracked my son by only buying him QPR shirts at Christmas, and then telling him that Santa knows best!!

It's the 21st century Kiwi - even small kids get access to social media and can have their dreams shattered so easiy.....he must be gullable though, if he's been suckered into the Chelsea glory-hunting machine <laugh> (no offense surrey!!)

Could the bag simply just "break"...you can tell him, this is the sort of thing that happens with a plastic club.....but your QPR shirt, hat, bag, badge, mug etc...is till going strong. Because it is a item made by a strong, family club that cares.


(Deceit of a 6 year old...I have a feeling that is a sin too!)

There is hope. As a youngster my lad was a Gooner, horribly influenced by a Gooner mate and his sons, and the fact that this was the time that they were genuinely brilliant. I said fine, your choice, but I won't ever be taking you to an Arsenal game, unless they happen to be playing QPR (unlikely as we were separated by two divisions at that stage).

Then at about the age of 9 or 10 he had a spontaneous conversion to the Rs. After a few trips to LR and away games his eventual reward was a season ticket to our second season back in the PL (when he was old enough to withstand and participate in the robust atmosphere and language of the Loft) during which he saw us win approximately twice. Still an R, but with carefully self managed expectations nowadays.

I admit that I lost faith both with Ollies' ability as a manager and the team to perform.
I thought we would lose last Saturday against Reading.
What is my penance?

6yos can be very fickle when it come to football teams. Does he still support Chelsea after yesterday and their inability to score penalties?

Those highlights are a pleasure to watch. A bit like OBZ's wonder goal at Wembley - it doesn't get boring. I am probably more than half way done already! :)
A tough and painful penance would have been to watch our last games of last season.
