Sorry to hear about your loss today and from a true lifelong City fan I want to wish you a speedy return to the Football League. Forget the nasty comments over on our site and come back soon and best wishes from Canada on a sad day.

    <ok> Cheers Mike.

There has been a lot of kind words from reds and have been in recent weeks. Its good when we all get along.

Unfortunately there are fans on both sides which let their clubs and Bristol down. I seen that today from both Blue and Reds.

My words are only banter. If we went down I would expect it, and be disappointed if we didn't get some stick, as that is what rivalry is all about. No good having a rival team if you're going to be all pally pally!

Sorry about you being relegated to the conference (well to your decent fans) but I will enjoy your heart aches for a little while :)<ok>

as a shrewsbury town fan who lived in bristol during the 1960's i alternately watched the gas and city, and am devasted if either teams went out of the league. we had a year in the conference and were known as the manchester utd of the conference. i suspect the gas will take that role.

keep your fanbase, a new stadium to look forward to, now bounce back. Floreat Salopia.! today you hurt, august you are up for it.

You guys will be feeling raw for a few days - the stuff on our board is in the main just banter, but quite a few of us feel for you (hope that does not sound patronising because it's not meant to be)

I've been impressed by your support this season, and all you can do is keep supporting your club. The fans are the one section of BRFC who are not to blame for what's happened.

You will get back - so keep supporting your team

Commiserations lads - you are far too big a club to be down there for long - not trying to be patronising but I (against my expectations) loved our one season in League 1 went to places I'd never seen before and met some great people - sometimes you need to go backwards before you can move forward (as we have)...

10 years ago this week end Hull City won away at Yeovil to clinch our first promotion in god knows how many years. On New Years Eve 2000 Hull City were six points adrift at the bottom of the old 4th division.
What's it got to with Bristol Rovers ?
Hope springs eternal. I never ever dreamt that I would see my team in the Premier League, especially during those dark days when we had 5,000 watching us in a ground falling to bits with a team made up of other clubs cast off's.
But miracles happen. I've seen two promotions to the Premier League, been to Wembley twice and won, we are now in the FA Cup Final and yesterday we qualified for the Europa League.
All that has happened in no time at all, from the very bottom to the Premier League.
If Hull City can do it so can Bristol Rovers.
