Strong starting 11 today, same lacklustre performance and result for us in the League Cup again.

Really dissapointing in my view as the final week enjoyed in 2012 gave me one of my all time favourite City memories (Ben Turner's equaliser).

Ho hum... have to settle for league and FA Cup double only this year!

Strong on paper weak on the pitch.

Only Bacuna and Pack in midfield - chasing shadows.

Squad looks very thin to me. If youngsters were any good they would have played today. Sang on as sub was the only one.

    2 quality signings needed.

Oh yes, get rid of Murphy. Give him away. A waste of space.

Im not sure about Murphy. I have at least seen him play well.

Glatzel? I keep hearing we dont play to his strengths.

I have no idea what they are.

Yes, I've seen Murphy have the odd good game but not often enough for a £10m player. Half the time he isn't bothered. He should have torn apart a team at Northampton's level.

Agree on Glatzel today. He had chances and should have buried at least one of them.

We can't pass a ball - we can't hold a ball up - we can't play out through midfield. We pumped it up in the air and tried to play head tennis with a team of giants.

Totally clueless about how to play against a side like that, Quite embarrassing for the club.

    Thats a shocker today.

Glatzel is useless lets face it. Best we can hope for is a loan where we pay most of his wages.

Reads like a review of one of our Warnock games last season<doh>

I’ve just posted on another thread that I didn’t see the game but our team save Desmond all turned out for us (and of course Bamba) last season.

What formation did we play as the stats showed us at 58% possession which is almost unheard of?

Back 5 unless Bamba was our midfield destroyer <yikes>
    Middle 2, Bacuna and Trigger
With Hoilett, Glatzel and Murphy up top.

    Cunningham came on for Bennett

    Sang for Bamba

Looks like we improved a bit when Sang came on.

    Couldn't have been any worse.

Never fair on the youngsters when the senior pros dont show up.
It should be a chance for the young guns to be supported, not expect them to change a game.
Its happened too often in recent years.

Just watched Wales beat Bulgaria with a last gasp Neco Williams header.

That aside I hope our Championship referees know a but more about football than the officious Portuguese twat in charge today.

Kieffer Moore got whistled virtually every time he jumped for the ball whether he touched an opponent or not. Appalling refereeing.

I can see Kieffer rattling up yellow cards pretty quickly if our "much respected" men in the middle have the same approach.

Agree BFB. Couldn’t understand those decisions and Keifer looked flabbergasted. Watching the Irish match now and the ref so far has not been so fussy and I doubt our championship referees will be as inept as the one in Cardiff today.

His disallowed goal in the week was a dubious decision. Bit of pushing and shoving, moore spun off his man, ran 3 yards as the ball was coming in, scored and got pulled back.
Looks a hard working player in attack and defence. Always looking to get in good areas in the box.
Could well come down to the supply.
I dont doubt he'll tell the midfield if he isnt getting the service he wants.
