It seems there could be a very complex picture for England at the end of the season.

    A) cl winners. This will be simple enough. If lfc or City win it bother are already top 4.

    B) europa final could be won by West ham. This entitles west to a cl place, and they could well be 7th.

    C) lfc are league cup champions so conference space goes to the league.

    D) lfc and chelsea are in the cup final so the fa cup space flows down to the league as well.

    E) leicester could win the conference league which entitles them to a europa slot but they are 10th.

Finally the maximum number of clubs allowed in Europe from one country is normally 7.

    Cl
    City (possibly cl winners)
    Lfc ( possibly cl winners)
    Chelsea (3rd)
    Spurs (4th)
    West sham (7th)

    Europa league
    Man utd (5th)
    Leicester (10th)

    Uefa conference league.
    None?

Seems to me arsenal could.be royally ****ed over by their own ineptitude here. :)

It could be that case than nobody will know who is qualified for comps after the final day of the league.

Being out of Europe might be better for them than being in a lower European league.

They miss out on Europa but get to have a distraction free shot at the Champions League again next year with an advantage of fresher legs than Spurs.

    Depends on squad tbh.

For me the loss of uefa coefficient alone is good reason to be in but the thing that sells it for me is that big clubs need to sustain big squads or the first cl will be a disaster and you won't get back in.

With the new "qualification" route I could see arsenal missing out if their coefficient falls down

Villarreal are going to come with a lot of spirit and be very dangerous at home too
    The fans will be raucous
I much prefer being the underdog

Real proving a tough but to beat under Carlo too

Not so much 8th place but if a side wins its European comp there's not a thing that can be taken from them.

There's only 7 places allowed so there cannot be pass down from the cups should it occur.

If this was unlimited then in theory West ham would pass their 6th place or 5th place down if the win europa and a cascade effect would happen.

    Uefa rules would block it.

Also say lfc are 9th and win CL. West ham win europa. Then there's a problem as only 5 allowed in cl. So 4th placed spurs would end up in europa

    That’s true
I think if we meet City we may be considered the underdog and maybe even With Real as they are a bigger club they have the bigger Euro history
But we are superb atm too
    Tough one for me that

You lose yet more coefficient points plus the Europa League money which if you go far in the comp isn't to be sneezed at plus you need the extra games to justify the big squads .

That'd be it for me, only City and real would make me see us as underdogs.

Real for obvious reasons, they know how to win in Europe even not playing well such is their pedigree

Oil fc cos they are basically the English globetrotters.

Everyone else we are favourites to imo including bayern

Chelsea could beat us no doubt, but I still wouldn't call us underdogs.

Thats fair but not sure I would call us favourites also
    Probably more like evens ?
Either way, even I acknowledge that the pot of teams we are underdogs to is currently very small

Yes. Could go either way, and it wouldn't be a surprise whoever won.

Klopps record in semi finals is 10/1 so giving him less than red hot favourite for the sf is just silly imo.

    Call it 90%
Given the opposition the fa cup is 50/50
Given the other sf in the cl the final would be 50/50 too.

Both games are almost first goal wins games.

That's us down to 22.5% chance already of a cup treble.

The league is up to the belief city will drop points in one more game than lfc will over 7 games when they have piss easy games.

Not sure Chelsea would accept that. If it weren't for Man City, our current crop would be considered one of the greatest of all time, it just happens to have coincided with a exception Man City squad.

Bit like Messi and C.Ronaldo being around at the same time; both would be clearly considered the greatest of their generation had they been at different times. However, being around at the same time pushed them to be better too. Maybe that's the case for Liverpool & Man City too.

chelsea can say what they like though. I cannot see any chav thinking they won't win or down talking thier side.

    draw league home
    draw league away
penalteis to split side in league cup final (we won)

so if they are that arrogant, its great.

Of course they'll be confident of winning but the conversation was about favourites. It'll be close but no chance it's even, we'd be slight favourites without doubt.

    I'd rather be underdogs!!!
