I dont want to go harp on about Nigel but does seems strange to the best of my knowledge he hasn't still said a word or had a newspaper interview yet? I'd have thought he would have put across his point of view by now? Or has NC locked him in a room?
I think that NA always knew he was going to be replaced.., As i was never beleivant of him lasting the season from his interview when we got promoted. He is just be a model professorial manager.. If only others showed that kind of trait.
Pardew dxid much the same as I recall. I reckon Nicola takes them on a night time drive along Millbrook road and out to the forest, for a little "chat".
Indeed, and the same happened with Pardew. We'll likely never know the ins and outs. Plus Adkins is on holiday so you're not going to get much out of him at the moment on any subject!
He has been professional and has rightly not said a word. As much as it would be good to hear what happened, it may be better for it to remain behind closed doors.
Not surprised to see him say nothing regarding the sacking but I'm surprised we haven't even seen him as a pundit on Goals on Sunday or anything.
As per Nigel has been the utter gentleman.......He obviously has been given his pay off with a silence clause so you will probably never know what was said until his memoirs. Same as with Alan Pardew.
I suspect that there may not be much to tell. I think that the reasons NC gave are the real and only reasons. There may be curiosity regarding the chronology, but there is no smoking gun and not much Nigel could say, even if he weren't covered by the inevertible gagging clause.
I hate this phrase. Nigel Adkins and Alan Pardew will not have been "gagged". In my working life I was involved in the dismissal of a few people. A compromise agreement was always part of the deal. The company could be assured that there would be no Employment Tribunal to face and so consequently we could afford to be very generous with our redundancy packages. Nicola Cortese knows how to run a business. The fact that NA and AP have remained silent is in their best interests. Neither of them is stupid, they will have known the score. The fact that NA was replaced would indicate that he must have been aware of the impending end. I loved having him as our manager. He comes across as genuine, with a good football brain and I liked having him as our representative. Hopefully he and his family are enjoying some down time before he steps back onto the treadmill. They deserve that and we must surely wish him well. But let's not pretend there is anything "sinister" about his silence. As for NC, it was purely business and nothing personal.
Why? Pardew got us to Wembley and won us our first trophy for over 30 years, Nigel got us back to back promotions. All power to the pair of em.
Not exactly the most difficult trophy to win though. We were massive favourites to win it before the season started. Adkins did achieve more than Pardew.
There's been complete silence from Nigel Adkins because words are very unnecessary, they can only do harm.
I can just picture that. Good job I wasn't imbibing, as that was worthy of a splutter over the computer screen.
They were bot very good managers for us that done a job prior to someone else coming in and moving us forward again. When Pardew took over we were in turmoil and had been on a downward spiral of losing game after game for years. He stopped that rot and got us winning again. That was the start of our resurrection so to speak and shouldn't be underestimated.
