http://fansonline.net/blackpool/mb/view.php?id=1127629 A bit long winded From a Blackpool Supporter I have supported my football club for 38 years, and have been to all three of the last 3 play-off finals at the new Wembley since its completion, and I have to say, there have been many bad incidents that have spoiled many of our fans days out / weekend away each time we have been there, yet yesterdays was the worst out of all of them, and our day was ruined by incompetent stewarding, policing, and the genuine treatment of our fans by Everybody to do with Wembley. Yet when we went to the play-offs in Cardiff, and the LDV trophy finals there, they all passed off without any such issues, and many fans agree the Cardiff experiences were fantastic days out / weekends away enjoyed by all with hardly any bad instances. It is a shame that everybody to do with Wembley cant take a leaf out of Cardiff's books , and learn to effectively deal with incidents swiftly, and train their staff to treat everybody with the respect and decency we as fans attending a major event deserve !
Wembley stadium is a magnificent stadium, however the surrounding area is and absolute toilet, but that may be unkind to toilets.
He's got a point for sure and rules are supposed to be rules BUT..... My guess would be that the FA want as much money as possible so will let opposing fans in to the ground and hope there are no serious incidents that they have to answer to. That letter should go the Health & Safety executive first and foremost, they do not tend to piss about
hmmm, interesting read. Agree with the comments about the Millennium, I don't recall ever seeing any incidents in the stadium any time I've been there. Outside... thats a different story, but never inside However, imo this email would not have been sent if B'Pool had won. If you cant sell your full allocation for the Championship Play-Off Final with a chance to get to the Prem, and your club send back 'X' amount of tickets for re-sale, due to lack of interest, you cant complain if those tickets are bought by fans of the opposition. I'm not condoning throwing bottles etc but a lot of stewards are fairly useless and aren't interested in any complaints (we've got a few at CCS) and you'll always get banter/abuse at a football match. Police only ever seem interested if it kicks off.
Agree H, some sour grapes involved. Baptiste didn't hold back!! http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18143836
I just watched the football league show (better late than never) this guy should be thanking the Spammers fans for going in the Blackpool end it looked half empty with them so it would have been seriously embarrassing without them. I was seriously shocked at the amount of empty seats. I mean come on if you felt that intimidated it looks like you could have just got up and moved to any part off the Blackpool end you wanted.
some B'pool sites quotes 27000, others are quoting 29000.... either way from an allocation of 38500, its still a poor turnout.
They were all spent out after following the mighty Fleetwood Town into the leagues. I know a few guys who have season tickets at both!
We can hardly criticise. Not sure how many of you noticed the large number of empty seats in our playoff leg vs the Spammers. Thursday night regardless its still a playoff and chance of promotion. But we are quite good at packing Wembley.
