I wonder why? Could he have been looking at Shalke's keeper? Who else is on the radar from either club?

Much more likely to be Farfan as he is a good winger at an average club.

He was there simply to put a hex on Utd for the final, hence his proximity to Guardiola. It's a voodoo thing.

I seriously doubt he went to evaluate a player, maybe ot have a look and then send someone to Germany, Fergie won't sell to LFC and we are not lookin to buy from them so who is quite young in decent in the Schalke side? I know they have had a season pretty much like us under Roy, their coach won't be in that job long, his tactics are deplorable and their confidence is shattered, they never believed they could be in the final and it showed on the pitch that they were quite happy to have made the semis. So maybe they have better players than we have been shown, I don't want Farfan thanks!. Big bucks splash out in the summer for Auld Dan the man at Barca:)

Ralf Rangnick only took the role in March, I doubt he'll be going before he can put his stamp on the team. Rangnick is well liked by Schalke fans, he has managed them before. back in '05 they finished the season in 2nd and were runners up in the DFB Cup (German FA Cup) under him. They are currently 10th in the Bundesliga but in a positive note they are in the final of the DFB Cup this year and are firm favourites as they are playing Duisburg who are the German equivilants of Burnley

Well there you have it. I guess we'll see in the summer, they have been pretty poor even for a team with a new manager, poorer than Liverpool under Roy I think too, Roy also got Fulham to the EL final and steadiesd them in the Prem and barely missed out on Euro qualification with Finland, also a good rep when he came. The tactical ineptness of their first display in Germany and their complete lack of grit heart whatever you want to call it, commitment at least to the travelling fans, were absent, when the manager should ahve had them fired up for this game, semi final 2 down nothing to lose, go and get at united they are putting out half a team, instead a wet fish of a performance, the manager should be getting more out of the team, when you look at the likes of west ham and Blackpool, and then see this dross, nope, even a good manager is not made for every club, cant love em all

It won't be Nueur as its likely Pepe Reina is staying put.I also read a report that his exit clause applies to all clubs except Manchester United.

Admittedly they were stuffed by Man Utd (and munich in the league last week) but they also gave Inter Milan a hiding. Since he has taken over their Bundesliga form has picked up too, they have won 2 drawn 1 Lost 2 which is a bit better then Hodge Podges W:1 D:2 L:2

I think the only way to compare the Shalke coach Ragnick to Hodgson is if we look at the 30 years of work on their resumes....

In that case Hodgson > Rangnick mainly due to his 2 apperances in the UEFA Cup final (I still can't believe he has a winners medal)

haha I think you took me to literally there Bozz, I only said that as everytime Hodgson was questioned on credentials or coul dhe handle Liverpool he would always reply " You just have to look at my 30 years of work". Heck, he said the same thing we he joined West Brom! Broken Record.

I'd have gibson over traffic cone. Carrick shines in training though, or diverting traffic on the M1

its like he's a football ventriloquist, he seems to move and pass but it looks like he is completely motionless:)
