    Seems we don't seem to have a consensus on here regarding popular music. A wide range of tastes which personally, and this is only my opinion, is a good thing.

    Are there any bands/artists though that we can agree on as being talented, popular and most importantly not up their own arses.

    I'll start. Abba.

    A band that you were not supposed to like when I was a youngster. I did however and it amuses me that all these years later many have revealed that secretly they were fans of them.

    Another I can think of is Twisted Sister.

    God knows how many singles/ambles Queen sold, how many people they played to, who was influenced by them, who copied them but by god, their performance at Live Aid in 1985 was fecking marvellous. Mercury completely stole the show.
