Cheers Ellers, this is huge news mate. Nexon is a massive (sorry) company and as you pointed out they are worth billions. Another step in the right direction for our beloved R's.

Fantastic news and a testament to how far we've come as a global brand.

What does how much Nexon is worth have to do with it? They haven't bought shares. They are NOT worth billions of pounds. Their gross turnover (before tax, wages, all costs) was about £700m. Put into perspective this is about 7% of that of Marks and Spencer.

In the old parlance it is a one-year sponsorship deal where the club will get a few quid in the coffers and Nexon get their name around the side of the pitch. (Great for them as the interest in the Rs has increased due to the signing of Park.)

It has absolutely nothing to do with any possible sale of the Mittal shares or buying into the company.

Good for business, yes, but some fantastic coup ... no. Just a sponsorship deal.

I'm starting to feel a bit sorry for Nexon now after reading that; maybe TF or Mr Mittal (if he's still around) might make a magnanimous gesture and pay them instead considering their straitened circumstances....

Nexon CEO, Seo Min, added: “It is a pleasure to be an official sponsor to support QPR where Ji-Sung Park is playing as captain, who is also a main marketing model of our game.”

Highlighted in bold speaks volumes. Suspect Ji-Sung is our captain to stay. Too much turns on it commercially otherwise. He may not be the most vocal of leaders, but I like him as a player so have no problem.

This is another deal that will help QPR grow on the world stage. It not just about what the company makes its about the audience that it reaches. We have all seen what has happened since bringing JS Park to QPR? How 40K watched us on tour/The amount of Twitter/Facebook users. the amount of tops we sold. the amount of Korean fans that have started turning up. Last week i was in Oxford St and went past a sports shop and in the front window was a QPR top with JS Park on the back, (check it out near HMV). These deals will make money for QPR and also increase our fan base.
We should not dimiss them as just another deal but as club on the rise.
People have short memories on here and should remember the old deals that we used to get and compare.

The deal is positive. It has Tony Fernandes' fingerprints all over it. Eamon's right, it's a sponsorship deal and sponsors come and go, but it's more evidence that we're moving in the right direction. I won't even begin to compare it with where we've been, Ellers, except that Binatone it ain't, thank God.

You lucky Goldhawk! I definetely do not like him playing attaching wide roles, and with Granero, Ale and Diakite when fully fit, we have better creative, ball passing, and box to box central midfield players! So I really hope I'm gonna like Park playing central midfield in tough away games when we need to fill up the midfield, and see him harrying some of the opposition's top play makers out of their stride, because I'm stuggling to see what else he brings to the park (sorry for that one!), other than the commercial benefits.

<laugh> I should have guessed you'd rise to this, Oslo. You don't hide your feelings where Park is concerned. There's an interesting issue, I agree. The commercial considerations for MH playing him. I don't our sponsors would like to see him dropped to the bench that often. He's close to deity status in Korea.

Nelsen is a captain in the same way Derry was when Adel was captain. There's plenty of steel in there now...

Thought he was immense at times against Chelsea. I really like him as a player. He can graft and puts a shift in, whilst also has a half decent amount of attacking flair and an eye for goal....a good all rounder if you will ;) Pretty sure I read that he ranks quite high on scoring chances created so far this season...that should tell us something about his creativity and ball passing. I honestly think he will get better and the experience and professionalism he has will be a big asset throughout the season.

Well if he can't play the harrying mid-field role too often, I wonder if being ball boy will keep the sponsors happy - he could start training ball boy time wasting tactics when we hanging on to a 1-0, that'll keep the cameras on him! Just don't put him on thef*kkin wing!

Here's what a Korean poster on WATRB said:

"NEXON has enormous amount of capital and is a very very fine and wealthy WORLDWIDE online game company.

NEXON is the company who helped create FIFA 2012, 2013 as well as FIFA online 3. It will not only provide you good deal of money but also, it's been said that they will promote QPR to the world, especially to those asian countries people who enjoy playing Nexon games.

Considering the number of its game users, known to be over 700 millions just in Asia and 200 millions in the rest of the world. Our Name will be famous soon.

What Nexon will do other than providing sponsorship money and aids, is that they will particularly make QPR squad in their games strong so that many people would choose to play QPR. "

Tell me where I am wrong in saying turnover was £700m?

This is quite true, but the deal is for NEXON to get publicity using us, and not the other way round - although I accept that there maybe be a little going the other way. When the South Koreans tune in to see their hero, Park, play at LR they will see the name NEXON (a home brand) on their screens. Great for Nexon, that's what they want. That's what they pay US for. .

Nexon are coming to us because we are a growing brand in Asia, it is not the other way around. We won't get more publicity or fans in Korea just because Nexon sponsor us.

Goldhawk says "it's not Binatone", but the companies are actually of similar size and Binatone does have a large global network.

I am not decrying the deal one little bit, but had it not been Nexon it would have been another company paying about the same amount. We probably got a bit more for this due to the Park effect in Korea, but a major coup it is not.

It wasn't that long ago that we were sponsored (shirts) by a much, much bigger company with a much bigger global brand ...... Guinness.

We are a premiership team now, and such is the popularity of The Prem around the world that these deals are available to most clubs, but you have to go out and secure them and get a good price, which I hope is what they have done.

..... and I still don't see what this sponsorship deal has to do with any conspiracy theorists and the Mittal shares being sold (or not). The two are completely and totally unrelated.

This deal is good for us and if you think not then that's your opinion.

Over a billion gamers world wide? Enough said if people cannot work that out then we should 'get rid' and go and get Marks and Spencers on board as im sure their customers will be interested in QPR?

It's a new modern world and i'm glad we have the people to reach out to it.
