I'd have bet in advance that there would be no-one on the list who's broken through since the 80s, and ER didn't let me down.

At the risk of being called a sexist and mysoginist it's common knowledge that women are just not funny. It's not part of their genetic make up. They are more adept at housework.

I saw that. He supposedly shoved a bottle up a young actress's fanny and caused some internal damage from which she died a few days later. It was eventually proved that no such incident took place and she had died from a long term medical condition, but Arbuckle's career never recovered.
