Their next three games: Boro Reading Brighton Normally I'll be saying just worry about winning our games, but three games there that I'll have a little thought towards them about. However, they'll probably be one up in all of them and get beat.
well, maybe inwardly cheer them on against Boro & Reading - Brighton not so bothered about, although I guess they are coming up on the rails. For me, I suppose I just take one game at a time, and that is the Saints game - starting with a solid victory at a shll shocked Elland Road this Saturday tea time !
Happy for Boro and Brighton to win don't see either of them as threats for a top 2 finish. A draw with Reading.
We can't rely on teams around us to drop points. 100% of the focus has to be on us picking up 3 points every match. We do that, it doesn't matter what anybody else does. NA
We can't let Pompey get any points... they have to go down, they have to suffer and burn in eternal hell. We cannot let them get on a sound financial footing and do well again, remember the 2008 fa cup? they never let us forget it... we are NOT going back into their shadow.
Although Pompey don't score many they have a decent defence. A 0-0 draw here or there would be fantastic. Obviously it is still in our hands at the moment and we just need to concentrate on winning, but that's the staff and players job. I don't think it matters if I have one eye on other results.
Although it's in our own hands, it's still very close. Want some dropped points by our opponents to give us some leeway. Can't guarantee we will win all the games in our run out like last season.
You dont have a say in the matter. Pompey will gain and drop points on their efforts alone. Nothing Southampton do until the game at St Mary's will impact that in any way.
You do keep on with your nasty attitude, don't you. Really, don't bother. There's barely a poster who agrees with you.
Control the contollables and all that, but it wouldn't hurt (especially reading, I would be over the moon if they got something )
If it's true that decisions even themselves out, Pompey should get at least 2 dodgy penalties in each of those games. That Leeds defender should have been penalised for double dribble.
Which is what I inferred in the OP. Reality teaches me we won't win every game and it would be kind of ironic if a little Pompey success benefits us. A bitter sweet pill for their fans.
Pompey loved relegating us (though they didn't really), so I can just imagine their joy in getting us promoted!
Sadly for Pompey, we will still have everything to play for, so they can't look to us for mercy (as if!).
Here's hoping In fact, I was discussing this the other day, if they have 6 weeks left, that takes them to the derby? Wouldn't it be poetic if we sent them down AND put them out of business in their final game (not that I want it to happen though)
