For me I would have preferred a draw or a Liverpool win because that would have kept our chances of finishing 5th much brighter however now it is looking out of reach for this season, nothing to do with hatred for Newcastle.

If Newcastle finish above Sunderland this season it will be the first time in 4 seasons so most of us Sunderland fans don't have any reason to hate Newcastle as we have been having our cake and eating it. Newcastle were the top dogs for a few years before the last 5 years or so however if we need to go further and further back we would end up quoting Sunderland having won the league title 6 times against Newcastles 4 and that is where the debate comes to a conclusion.

I enjoy supporting the club that has won more league titles and has had the best of the last 5 years or so as oposed to clutching at a few straws that occured inbetween. <ok>

A what if ? (will never happen but for those that are saying they would never want Newcastle to win any game and vice versa.)

    all played 37 games

    Man U 88 points +60 GD
    Sunderland 86 points 34 GD
    Newcastle 80 points 32 GD
    Arsenal 80 points 31 GD
    Chelsea 79 points 37 GD
Man City 78 points 40 GD

    Sunderland vs Wigan
    Man U vs Newcastle
    Arsenal vs Bolton
    QPR vs Chelsea
    Fulham Vs Man City
Man U just need a win or a draw to clinch the title, we need a win, but we also need Newcastle to beat Man U for us to get it.

Would the Sunderland fans want Newcastle to win.?
Would the Newcastle fans want their team to get beat.?

Remember the teams chasing, they all have easy (ish) games, so Newcastle getting beat, or even drawing, could mean no CL football the season after.

I'd want us to win irrespective of where you could potentially finish.

Tiote is a cheat for being hit in the face?

Perch went down easily(was slight contact, pic on skysports website proves it) but Reina deserved red for intent anyway.

<laugh><laugh><laugh>Incestria <laugh><laugh><laugh> Proving once more he hates Newcastle more than he loves Sunderland, wouldn't be out of place on SMB/RTG.

I'd want us to win and Wigan to win against your lot. Which should be easy enough because you are crap! <whistle>

Bullshit. Easy to say hypothetically but I reckon I'd this was real, you'd want to make sure we didn't win the league

I'm don't live in the area and haven't for a long time so the only reason I have to dislike your club is from some of the fans on here. To me you're just another club so if it wasn't for threads like this (I'm not blaming you or the majority of the Sunderland fans, every team has it's twats) then I really would be happy for you if you won the league

Tiote, according to all of your fans, is hard as nails. There was minimal contact with him and he was rolling about. If James McClean had done the same then Krul would've been sent off but McClean decided to stand his ground. If Tiote had stood his ground do you think Sessegnon would've been sent off?

He should be sent off no matter Tiote's reaction, he intended and did make contact to hit Tiote in the face, last time I checked, that is a red card.
Krul pushed McClean in the chest. A bit of a difference there.

Fair enough mate but most on here (not you from my experience of your posts)wouldn't think like that. Hypothetical situations are one thing (stupidest bit like playing free poker - you gamble completely differently when it'll cost you nothing) but in reality I reeking most local Newcastle fans would be happy to lose if it meant us not winning the league
